Default problem going from perpendicular view to horizon view

Long story short: my computer died, so when I replaced it with a new CPU and installed CAESAR IV, I was unable to go from a perpendicular view of the ground to a more-or-less horizontal view that would allow me to see the horizon--at least in the Empire's Tier 1 (Viminacium).

This had never been a problem before, so I don't even know what setting to tweak in order to raise the camera high enough to see the horizon. Right now the best angle I can get is probably only 35 degrees, whereas 60 to 65 degrees would more 'n likely allow me to view the horizon as I was previously able to.

Thanks in advance for any advice I can get.

Sincerely,
--dmw1937

First off, hello!

Second, you posted in the wrong Forum bacause your talking about Caesar IV correct?

and third, There must be some camera options somewhere. I'm not at my gaming machine to check. Look for options and test the various settings.

Good luck!

Howdy, dmw1937!

Goto your C4 settings & change camera to Free Camera.

EDIT: I had to go back to the game to check again. Settings ==> Interface ==> Free Camera will improve it & let you see the horizion, but Snapshot Camera is the best. W/o Snapshot, you won't be able to get up high enough in the sky to see the Moon.

I thought there was a setting there... someone moved this from Mosby's area, cool.

Default Thanks...

Thanks very much to both responders. I will give Tinkerbell's solution a try and report the results here. But if this is not the right Forum for CIV, why does it say "Caesar IV - Official Forums" across the top of the thread?

Thanks again.

Quick reply to Tinkerbell:
I tried both Free Camera and SnapShot with great success! Your advice has allowed to me to add a whole new dimension of enjoyment to CAESAR IV. Up to now I've been playing the game with only perpendicular and 45-degree views. I don't recall having seen either the horizon or the moon since playing the demo when it first came out.

Whee!! Thanks again.

Sincerely,
