Default SimCity Society is so different from former SC -I already try it.

Yesterday, I try it at EA GAMESHOW, Bangkok.

I am a SimCity & Ceasar Fan.

1. There are 3 modes :
- Normal
- Unlimited Money
- Freeplay or Sandbox which I can not remember its name, is has Unlimited Money & all building are unlocked
It really targets younger people & Sims fans. Both Unlimited Money & Freeplay or Sandbox are good to play as casual game during lunch break & for beginner or kids.

2. There are levels of difficulty.
From Easy to Expert or something similar

3. Head of EA TH told me that you can have micro-management if you want --I worked it them in a lot of Sim Events so I do not think he will lie to me-- but I did not try that yet.

4. No zoning which I hate that it gone --I like zoning because you never know what you will get.

5. The buildings other than separate by their usage are also as theme ; Authoritarian, Small Town, Industrial, CyberPunk, Romantic, etc.

6. Those with blue stickers are testers here, they told me if you play SCS with the same theme for sometime and get some amount of citizens the city will change to match that theme like the change of traffic lights.

7. In Normal & Unlimited Money Modes, you need to unlock buildings that require specific amount of citizens & some scores.

8. The graphic is quit nice at highest setting and I think with Custom made buildings that might possible to made, it can be a hit like SC.

9. There are disasters, but the effects do not that good.

10. There is no power wire&water pipe

11. Each building will have scores or points with + or - such as Education, Creative, etc.

12. There are various terrain you can build your city on and it is randomized so you will never get the same map each time you play ; Tundra, Savannah, Tropical, etc. And it looks great. It has additional option but I did not use that yet.

13. It has particle&bloom effects.

14. If you put new building in your building it will generate new character such as temple give you monks.

15. The lighting of this game is nice.

16. I think I saw bus stop, but I am not quit sure.

That is all I can get from playing less that 1 hour.

This game is great as city building game, but I still do not consider it as an SC game.

I already pre-order it, not because it is SC, but because it is another city building game.

I will get this.

This sounds like a good thing to me
you bought it NOT because it was Sim City but because it is a game you would like to play.

Micromanagement and themes as optional. Sounds good to me.

Judgying by the content of the various SCS previews and TeSiamese's first impressions, your city takes on a theme only if you repeatedly build certain structures or micromanage your city in a certain manner. Thus having your city adopt a theme appears to be optional.

Every pre-order of SCS comes with a date with pair of pretty Thai twins. Now THAT is "fan service".

so you can have a completely balanced thing? if buidlings have themes, you're gonna have themes no matter what you do.

it's not optional, but if what you say is true than it's possible.

That is what a tester told me that it will change because I do not play that long to see it happen.

Each building has theme so you I think you need to make it completely balance if you do not want theme.

And I did not know about BP's logo until I get home and looking for news about SCS so I do not know if the logo are too obvious or not.

Thanks for the information. It must have been fun to play the actual game and not just speculate as we have been doing here so far.

I only wonder what does this mean. Hmmmm......I am hardly one of the 'younger people', nor am I Sims fan (since I haven't played any of those games). I guess I might still like SCS when I'll get it.

I mean they add these 2 modes
- Unlimited Money
- Freeplay or Sandbox
for beginners, kids and casual gamers.

And it is for sim fans because I feel that this game become easier for them.
I make clothes, house, sims, pets for sim fans at http://www.modthesims2.com/member/The+T and make a thing called 'SimArt' at http://tesiamese.deviantart.com so I am quit sure sims fan will prefer easier game.

Kiya,

I could be wrong about this but I read TeSiamese' comments as meaning that freeplay and/or sandbox modes were targeted toward younger players and Sims fans rather than the whole game.

Per TeSiamese can clarify

Yes, that is what I means.

But normal mode also a bit too easy, but I did not play at hardest difficulty so I am not sure how hard it can get.

A tester --one of owners of this sim site http://www.thesims2club.net that I work as a moderator-- told me he never run out of money when he play it, but he might be really good at SimCity so I am not sure if it become too easy.

lol When I play it, I do not feel the same charm like when I play SimCity for the 1st time, anyway this is a nice city building game, but if it can modify for for better building & make it harder I will like it more.

With the twins

This is to make you not confuse that the shop you see with posters of girl in revealing underwear in the back as Sex Shop because it is actually a cloth&decoration shop.

Please, I have some questions:

1- The terrain is bigger than SC4?
2- What disasters existing in the game?
3- Are There Laws ?
4- If you had to choose only one game, which choose: SimCity 4 Rush Hour or SimCity Societies? Why?

Thanks ^^

Well, some of this we already knew, some of its new. Thanks for sharing it.

What do you mean by having the option to micromanage? I don't see how we could considering that there are no power lines, water pipes, or most any other infrastructure. Do you micromanage money?

1- The terrain is bigger than SC4?
I played on tropical coastal map and it is quit small compare to former SC.

2- What disasters existing in the game?
I did not try disaster, but I heard from someone who try it that is has meteor shower that look like ball, but that is all the person said.

3- Are There Laws ?
I did not try all the feature so I am not sure.

4- If you had to choose only one game, which choose: SimCity 4 Rush Hour or SimCity Societies? Why?
I prefer SimCity 4 Rush Hour because
- This is for hardcore gamer.
- I am SimCity Fan.
- It is more complex which required more strategy.
- It has a lot more way of transportation.
- It has zoning that I love.
- It has power wire&water pipe.
- It obviously has micro-managment --head of EA TH told me SC: C also has it, bu I did not found it when I try it.

But I will buy SimCity Societies
- This is for more Causual one.
- I am also fan of Ceasar.
- I can use it for free time or break because it is easy and require less strategy.
- It is new city building game --not a simcity game.
- I like its CyberPunk theme.
- The terrian & building at highest graphic setting look nice.
- The Unlock buildings seem to be fun to try to get all of them.

That is what head of EA TH told me when I told him that I anti this game because it is not SimCity without zoning&micro-management, but he told me I can micro-management if I want because it has options for it.

I try Tutorial&the easiest Sandbox mode so that might be why I can not find any clue of micro-management.

I can try it only 10-15 minutes then a booth girl new gamer in and ask to to let that person try it --there are only 4 PC in that booth ( CRYSIS Booth got 6 PCs. ).

I think he mean micro-managing money.

I watched one of EA TH Staff tries it and I saw a window that look a lot like that management window in former SC, I think she play Normal Mode and normal difficult level.
