Is that why Rome was so successful? They could breathe underwater and apparently barbarians couldn't.

It's actually a game flaw/cheat/exploit (just using the "verbage" to not tick off THAT discussion again!
) And seems to VERY noticeably (wow, bad spelling?) happen when a player uses gatehouses and walls right around bridges for walling in a city as the enemy will navigate towards the nearest bridge to get into and decimate the city.Only?Best? way to work around it is move your cohorts to the far side of the bridge as soon as you know an invasion is coming, even if they wait 4 months. If their fort still has enough food apparently the cohorts in the field still get fed? (Wow, new use for MRE's, MUST post that joke! Have to find it first!) STILL love watching these underwater and (sometimes flying) invasion! They crack me up! Pre-Navy-SEALS! EDIT: MRE joke. Hubby finds it hysterical. http://www.tiltedmill.com/forums/sho...50&postcount=1 Last edited by aramann; 02-24-2008 at 08:41 PM. Reason: cant spel |

Just got a new GeForce 9600 GT, and it works great for Caesar IV
. I'm able to push the settings to the maximum, and it still works great. Here's a screenshot:![]() . . . and before anybody asks, the "11:07 PM" is xfire's time overlay. The 9600 is an excellent card for anybody who doesn't want to spend $500+ for the high end cards. It's far better than the 8600s, and about as cheap. The 8800s are still the top of the line, but if you want bang for the buck, the 9600 is the way to go. It'll even be worth putting two of them together for SLI. Now I'm really playing Caesar IV again . Hopefully, I'll be able to stick with it long enough to actually finish this time. It's too bad, though, that there's little to no maintenance of the game .Last edited by CobraA1; 03-13-2008 at 04:35 PM. I finally beat Carthago today, on my 8th or 9th attempt
. I wasn't having any problems with the fact that there are no requests, but I always ended up with fires all over the place. After reading a few threads, I realized that the most likely reason was my constant use of the FAST button, so I tried it again without ever touching it and what'd ya know, no fires! Here are a some screenies from my city:1 & 2: Ratings and win screen ![]() 3 & 4: Different views of my residential area 5: The city from afar! ![]() 6 & 7: My estates and a temple to Ceres 8: You can never have too much food! ![]() 9: Always have lots of factories ![]() 10: Downtown Carthago, nothing really special about this one... ![]() |

Finally...
![]() After more than 15months, 600 replies and 30k views the maker of this thread mastered the game and completed the last two missions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ![]() I am sooo damn proud making this possible. I could never imagine really finishing CAESAR IV ever...... It took me so long like never before in any game. ![]() I hated this "you cheated" notice in my last winscreens, just because of changing some ini.files of speed and weather and so i reinstalled the game and did the two last missions with my old savegames and now not changed anything. Tingis was kinda hard - Nicomedia was much easier. A bit strange i guess, but it just felt like this. So this is Tingis on bad graphics (had to use an older graphics card). PS: One week after the game was released i promised Bex' and Kiya to post at least one screenie with a fully crowded street, cos my pics are usually so empty. And there it is- a waiting time of just 1 and a half year and you got it: the one next to the pic with the burning down house. Last edited by dorn; 03-17-2008 at 12:15 PM. |

![]() The graphics look even worse, i guess. But that doesn't matter now in the end. Whatever- TM gimme' a new city builder!! I am waiting for a new game (Zeus2, Emperor2) in 2009/2010. All the best to everyone who attended the guessing game on C4 and spilled so many beanz, especially Keith and Marky (i have to use this again after more than a year)!! I am looking forward to a new TM chapter in the next years!![]() Last edited by dorn; 03-17-2008 at 11:57 AM. |
