I just finally started E5M Moguntiacum last night. I have finally seen a C4 Battering Ram on my own!

First invasion is 3 Heavies, 1 Ram & 2 Catapults. Smoked them with 1 Expert Light & 1 regular Heavy. Ok, Towers helped. A couple of bad boys made it over the wall section cuz I attacked the siege first, but they died on the way over. One torch thrown at that Trade Depot & a bunch of people in flames running away. No crimes.

This scenario should be good!

PS ~ The lowest low news is that I saved over my E3E Lugdunum Continue Play save in error. <kicks self upside head for not backing up C4 important folders yet> @ self for making these TWO huge blunders.

Folders are now backed up...

They're really fighting. Why are they fighting?

I had no idea Caesar IV came with its own set of hooligans!

It can't be from too much cotton candy at the circus, so it must be the wine...

Yes, it must be. Wine can turn any decent roman into a barbarian.

The German Invasion in E5M Moguntiacum was even better!

3 Heavies, 2 Skirmishers, 1 Ram & 2 Catapults. I countered with 6 Heavies & 1 Light, most Expert with battle experience & some Elite.

First image is meeting the first of them (most cohorts on the screen are mine)& second is the aftermath. The enemy never got close to the Bridge. The battle was VERY kewl!

TM has robbed me of several experience points during my battles in this scenario. Many cohorts should be up to "4 Seasoned". No biggie, two is all it takes to become Elite.

I screwed up & missed one DEMAND (unforgivable lowest low), cuz I accidently had my Timbercutters on mothball (missed it by 2 weapons & was wondering why the number was stuck for so long ), so I am waiting for more requests for the Favor requirement. 12 GM Block is done (100 Prosperity). Security at 100. Culture is only at 80, but that is fine & probably where it will end.

This was the first scenario where I tried a bit of shifting labor & mothballing, instead of just filling the map with Large Insulae. It leaves a bit of a bad taste in my mouth.

Romans in the stands of the Circus Maximus, it seems, are not satisfied to leave the violentia in the arena...like Hockey Dads and Soccer Moms

Finally back on the campaign trail...
Here is Virunum after the victory screen, but before continue play.

No city view yet but thought I'd showcase Pecunia's Minimapper
Get it here http://caesar4.heavengames.com/downl...?category=misc

The city has no forts - Yet. That's for later.

I manged to pass the win screen quickly by getting enough money to build the walls quickly using Kiya's Exotic Market timing trick.

Save enough Gold for a Mercury festival, put up tax rate, make sure you have some exotics ready, then hold the festival and open the Exotic Market at the same time. The exotics get sold while the Mercury festival is going on.
- Resulting in loads of dosh. Got a Mercury benevolence as well so that was icing on the cake.

Added: Part 2 - Military Infrastructure added
Shows use of walls to divide battleground into compartments to impede sneaky enemy movements - each dividing wall has a gatehouse and a couple of towers in it.

Dat's a LOT of Forts for E2M Virunum, Herodotus!

(I LIKE this guy! )

I am almost finished with E6M Tingis. All goals are far exceeded except for Favor & I'm waiting for more requests to get the 80 (gulp) Favor. The highest high news is that I have over 10K people (required) & smoke is coming outta my white box, but it is still going strong (with some lag).

HOOT !!! ~ Thank YOU, Tilted Mill !!!

EDIT: At Win Screen

Default Lugdunum

Not so many forts this time then

I thought I'd use both sides of the river for Lugdunum. There are so many different shaped cities you could build on this map. 100 Culture would have been easier if the residences were all on the one side.

I decided to leave favour at 70 cos it was taking too long.

The Gaul cohorts show up on the minimap even when they have been destroyed, it takes a long time to get the enemy defeated message sometimes.
