Hello and Happy New Year
First of all I think you may not have the best possible drivers although they are new. Have a look at this post http://www.tiltedmill.com/forums/sho...8&postcount=28 What about in-game settings? Shadows off? |

Hello Cleo1003
with the 5.4 driver from here: http://www.tiltedmill.com/forums/sho...6&postcount=61 the game should run with your ATI x600-card Above`s link is just the pure driver, if you like the 5.4 driver PLUS Control Center then use this link: http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1032 Last edited by Manni; 02-11-2007 at 08:38 AM. |

I've read many of the posts here, followed many of the suggestions...updated drivers, reinstalled game, adjusted display resolution, adjusted page file, etc
I've had no success so far. Please let me know what I need to do. I've attached my DxDiag file(I hope it is complete, i've seen the many posts about incomplete ones) Thanks for any help you can provide...I haven't played the game yet and I'd like to. |

It won`t run as long as you have this generic drive: from Daemon tools?
Drive: F: Model: Generic DVD-ROM SCSI CdRom Device You have video-driver ATI Catalyst 6.5 installed. For your RADEON X600 card the Catalyst 5.4 seems to be better. Get it from here: http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1032 It also includes the Control Center. Before you install the driver and the center do make sure to uninstall the present ATI-driver and the present Control Center. |

I uninstalled Daemon(which removed drive F), I uninstalled ATI control panel and driver, installed recommended 5.4 ATI catalyst, but the game still failed on Loading Kingdom. I uninstalled the game and reinstalled...still fails on Loading.
What next? Updated DxDiag and attached |

I did reinstall the 1.2 patch as well...sorry for not mentioning. I checked and .Net 2.0 is installed. I've attached 2 screen shots of my startup files.
I did try disabling all startups and retrying the game...still failed on Loading Kingdom Last edited by allecat; 02-18-2007 at 10:23 PM. |

Ok...$26 later with a ps2/usb converter for a wired mouse and keyboard and still no luck.
I've updated .Net framework and DirectX so I'm reattaching files. Still not sure how to copy error log since it is so long and its in a popup dialog that wont let you copy text(see previous word attachment) What files are you talking about needing? Last edited by allecat; 02-19-2007 at 07:33 PM. |

Maybe I should just build a new computer just for this game...am I the only one that finds all this a little ridiculous? I have never had nearly this much trouble with any game...and I've installed plenty on many different and varied systems.
Anyway...just needed to say that. I changed the ini file to windowed mode, adjusted my resolution to 1024X768 and still the same error. No there is no option offered to save the file, it does not go to a website, the error contents are displayed in a popup dialog with no editing or copying functionality. Can you take a look again at the word file I attached and tell me what you need? Do you just need the name of each dll, exe, etc. that is running? I scrolled down and there are like 80 of them. I can write them down and send them if thats what you need. |

One quick question as we continue working this out...does it matter at all that this game was purchased and installed as a digital download as opposed to CD/DVD media? This is the first game I've purchased that way and I am having so many issues, so I was just wondering.
I saw the permissions issue in the forums and I did check that already. I am administrator on my machine and I checked HKEY_Classes... where I had full control as well. I will check again tonight just to confirm. What is the number notation you are looking for next to each dll/exe. Each piece of data appears to have a heading: Module, Timestamp, Checksum, Image base, etc...which ones do you want other than the file name itself and module #. |

I confirmed that the windows account I am using is the administrator for the machine.(verified through XP User Accounts), in fact my account is the only administrator account on the machine.
Do you know if the error report that is sent to microsoft is stored somewhere on the machine before or after it is sent? |

Try running the registerdll.bat file in the Caesar IV game folder.
I'm not sure that SecuROM can help you here if the problem is related to Net Framework. If the game launches then I shouldn't be a SecuROM problem. Do you have all your Windows XP security updates installed? Your system only has 496MB of RAM, the game requires a minimum of 512MB so that may be the problem or a contributing factor. Increasing your maximum page file size to 1536 may also help somewhat. You can try updating your video drivers to the newest Catalyst 7.2 version. If that doesn't help or if you experience problems you may want to consider reverting back to the May 2006 Catalyst 6.5 drivers. |

I do have all of the XP updates installed...automatic updates running.
What makes you think I have only 512mb of ram? Did you see something somewhere indicated that? I have 1.00gb of ram. Changed minimum page file size to 1600. I am already running catalyst 6.5. Ran the registerdll.bat... same error |

Sorry, about that. Read the wrong dxdiag.txt file.
Since you have a Catalyst 6.5 installed, I'll take your word for it since the one dxdiag.txt file you posted shows something different, make sure that you do have the 1.2 patch for Caesar IV installed. They've addressed some of the problems that X600 owners were having . |
