Default Hotels/Home occupancy in Destinations

Is there any way to edit/modify the occupancy limit of the hotels and resort hotels? For that matter, the occupancy limit for the homes as well. For instance, the multi-story high rise apartments buildings towering over smaller apartment houses, and they only hold 20 occupants?? That seems awfully low for buildings their size. Anyway... if you can help, I'd very much appreciate it.

Thank you for your time.

Take a look at Midrealm's modding guide posted in the Mod forum. He goes over the basics of changing basic values through XML editing. Increasing or Decreasing occupancy limit is quite simple; you just need an appropriate XML editing program (and there are many decent free ones online).

I haven't been on here in a while but I'm interested in your work. I'm no programmer unfortunately.

What would really make a huge difference is if you can figure out how to import new models. Or has this been figured out already?

I'm afraid programming as practiced by the players doesn't really have much to do with adding Sim models to the game. If we were talking about automobiles, the programmer might be considered comparable to the mechanic back in the shop. His interests and and activity have to do with keeping the cars running despite design flaws and maybe improving their performance a bit. If you want major improvements, you have to talk to the new car salesman about the latest and greatest now being offered. Unfortunately, the publishers of the game have bailed out and no longer support it.

If you find any bugs in the game, let me know and I may be able find a work around for you. We have a very active group of building and landscape "modders", who are primarily artists, adding enhancements and new buildings. The Sim models were introduced using very proprietary graphics editors that none of us can afford.

Perhaps you can be of help in determining why user-created Specialist sims don't appear (such as the Ninja mod)? I've been trying to figure out why they don't spawn despite having the files in the right places.

Hi Azeem,

Tell me a little more about what and how you are doing this and I'll try to help.
