Once I begin a campaign and start to move around, the computer freezes and I have to restart.

I have other games which require lots of processor and video power and don't have problems.

Attached is dxdiag.txt. How can I play the game?

UPDATE: Although I upgraded, the crash still happens.

I just discovered I'm running v1.0x... But when I go to upgrade, the page does not load: http://www.immortalcities.com/cotn/downloads/patch.php

The server at www.immortalcities.com is taking too long to respond.

But, I did find it here:

http://63.169.70.225/patch.asp?sid=140655060904067010170021&pid=1322&pnm=Immortal%20Cities:%20Children%20of%20the%20Nil e&seid=3462&pos=Windows+XP

It looks like the publisher needs to weed out their old pages and do some upgrades.

Its been a while since I played this game and for some reason I felt like playing it today.

Well, I upgraded and tried to play but after five minutes it crashed and my computer freezed.

I switched the video from 32bit to 16bit and that bought me about two minutes of playing time before it froze again.

BTW, my version is now v1.1.6.119. Is that v1.2? I upgraded it using the v1.2 executable.

Any idea what's wrong?

Here is the error from Windows Event Viewer:

Faulting application cotn.exe, version 1.1.6.119, faulting module cotn.exe, version 1.1.6.119, fault address 0x001fa4d0.

Thanks Phil. I updated the game from v1.0 to v1.2 (which is written as 1.1.6.119 on the control panel).

Three posts in a row was so that I could add more information as I discovered it if you notice the times. If I plugged the additional information into the OP, it's possible that others may have not seen it. I wasn't trying to get extra attention. :D

I'm updating the audio and video drivers now. The audio, I thought, was integrated in the motherboard. I'm not certain that can be updated. Do you know?

I used to run COTN a long time ago without any problems. This is probably off-topic, but how can drivers go bad if everything else is constant?

The hard drive is not a plug-in. I'll report on my progress. Thanks!
