....How does one update one's drivers?

I have a new puter (this year) but I am getting some lag and I have to scale the graphics way down, and from what i can ascertain here updating drivers might help....I don't have the card specs on me at the moment (i am theoretically "working" ;) ) but I have played AOE III and GOTRE with no probs at all.....

Depends on who's video card you have. They usually have instructions on their website or included with the driver on how to go about it.

Usually you have to uninstall the current driver, reboot, then install the new driver.

I can uninstall just my drivers for my Radeon 9800 Pro by doing the following:

1. Right click on My Computer.

2. Click Properties.

3. Click Hardware tab.

4. Click Device Manager.

5. Click display adapters on list.

6. Right click on the top listed display adapter if more than one and select Properties.

7. Click Drivers tab.

8. Click Uninstall and close all windows. Reboot.

Then install the new drivers after the restart.
