I can't figure out to get an aqueduct to cross a road.
I can't build an aqueduct on a road square and I can't put a road square under an aqueduct.
I tried click and drag. ..  ... and got about three miles of road around my farms and water structures. In other words, the beginning and end of my click and drag were connected, but not by going under the aqueduct. The game found a path, presumably the shortest one that did not intrude on any other developed space.
I'm not sure how to plan a large city if roads can't pass under aqueducts.

The space between the arches has to be wide enough to fit the road through. That space can change sometimes with direction changes, etc.
I've been able to easily trace a road through my aqueducts. Keep trying.

How do you get the variable spacing? Mine come out all close together.
...and how do you get the space to occur where you want the road?
I'll go experiment some more, at least until Caesar gets tired of me building roads and aqueducts to no apparent purpose and sends me to the galleys.

If you are putting down aqueducts one tile at a time the spacing can change. Click and drag to get more even larger spacing.

Thanks, Keith.
I was having trouble with click and drag and had gone to the one space at a time method.
Click and drag will put an aqueduct over a road, but shouldn't we also be able to do it the other way around? If the aqueduct is already there, it could disrupt the city if the aqueduct is taken down to allow the road and then rebuilt. At the risk of joining the "C3 had (insert feature)" crowd, in C3 we were able to build roads and aqueducts in either order. In fact, what would be really cool in CIV would be to build an aqueduct down the middle of the road.
Also click and drag seems to need more clicks than one would expect. Sometimes the the click and dragging produces no aqueduct and at other times the dragging continues after the "release the mouse button" point.
I have started looking at the dinari cost graphic. If there is still a number there, the process isn't complete. That's when it seems like I need more mouse clicks to finish the process.

I find its more of a click where u want it to start, and then click where u want it to end, rather than click and hold down the mouse button. If u click once and release, then move ur mouse the aqueduct will follow it, then click again where u want it.
Im not sure if this is the way its suppose to work, i doubt it, so hopefully it gets addressed.

I do it the other way around. I trace my road under the aqueduct.

Don't know why it's different from roads. More distance to run in one placement?
Cartpusher, I drug a road under an aqueduct last night. It did a little jog to go between the support columns of the aqueduct, but it went through. As Keith said earlier, the columns have to be far enough apart for the road to run through, which they should be if you click, release, drag and click to place it. :)

Jimaaten and Keith: Thanks for the help. I think I've got it now. Check out the screenie thread. I counted some beans. Keith, if you want to move that into a separate thread, that's okay with me.
