Hey guys,

I've tried to run the demo and I get this: "Caesar IV has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." - JPEG attached.

DxDiag.txt is also attached.

Thanks!

And...
Yes, I've tried running the "RegisterDLL.bat"

And...
Yes, I had the DX 9.0c(August release) installed on my system, but I've also selected to install the version that came with the demo.

And...
I can't go back to driver v81.95 since my 7300LE will not be supported.

And...
In a day or two I'll install 2x brand new 7950GX2, so 91.45 will be the target as a driver release version...

So, nice try but it seems this demo has a zillion problems. Don't get me wrong, I used to be a huge fan of all Caesar series from Impressions Studios, but I'm not going to spent anymore time on trying to make it work. I'll probably buy the game w/o playing the demo, still...

nVIDIA.

Which drive do you have it installed on?

If it is on one of the drives with less than 2GB of free space that could be your problem. 2GB minimum is required.

I have the same problem...

But

my comp specs are kinda different.

OS : XP pro x64, OS is up to date
MB Asus A8N-E
Proc : AMD 3200+
ATI X850XT, catalyst 6.7

And the partition where the demo is installed has more than 2GB free (near 46)... using registerDLL.bat does not solve anything

Ok, just so you know Windows 64-bit is not supported.

Did you try running the demo as a 32-bit apppication?

c:\Program Files\Sierra\Caesar IV Demo\

It's on drive C: (the very same one with the system: Windows XP Pro retail+SP2, 32-bit) and it has 37 GB of free disk space...

Any other suggestions, please ? :p

No more problems in my case after uninstalling "Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0"

PS: Great game! :)

Good. I saw your other message in the other thread (http://www.tiltedmill.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9660).

Also, uninstalling the Windows update KB917422 fixes the problem, but you leave your system open to exploitation if you do so.

I've reinstalled "Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0" after uninstalling the Windows update KB917422 and it works! :D

"Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0" is enabled.

And I don't worry about security, really... I have another firewall + Kaspersky suite and I guess I'm OK...

Thanks for help, Keith! ;) I've just started selling some gold and weapons... :D
