Can't even start the game

the first screen comes up but when I press play a microsoft error comes up

Try the registry cleaner I mention in this thread:

Your graphics systems is a onboard chipset and not a seperate graphics card. It can run the game, but it's not the best. You may have to run the game in a lower screen resolution 800x600 instead of 1024x768 or refresh rate (60Hz instead of 85Hz). You may have to set the in-game graphics to the lowest settings.
