Wont run...

Installed the game no probsbut whenever i try to run it nothing happens...at all.
The second disc allows me to watch intro and such but nothing at all when i try to run it. Any help gratefully received. 8)

Have you defragged C before install?

Look for a newer graph-driver, yours is from: 3/3/2004
When changing the graph-driver, DO use a driverCleaner!

Look for a newer sound-driver, yours is from: 2/26/2003

Change the Current Mode from : 1280 x 1024 (32 bit) (75Hz)

to 1042x768 (16bit) (60Hz)

See what happens.............:)

Try the August 2004 catalyst drivers from ATI, those are the ones I'm using on my 9800 Pro. www.ati.com (http://www.ati.com)

Get the Cat uninstaller utility from ATI as well. Use it to remove your current video driver BEFORE you install any other driver. (Always uninstall the current driver before installing another one.)

Newer sound drivers are a good idea as well.

You may have to try running the game in the 1024x768 mode. You can try the 60Hz refresh rate and see if that helps. I'm running mine in a 75Hz refresh rate. You may also have to try a lower color count, 16-bit instead of 32-bit color.

You can alter the cotn.ini using Windows Notepad text editor. Open the folder where you installed CotN. Using Windows Notepade open the cotn.ini file. It's a text file. Locate the lines:

Game Window Height 1024
Game Window Width 1280

Change change the number after the height to 768 and the number after the width to 1024. You can even try a the game minimum of 600 for the height and 800 for the width.

Also chanage

Game Bit Depth 32

to

Game Bit Depth 16

Save the altered file as Cotn.ini and close Notepad.

Try starting the game.

If you get the game started, and can get to the settings, you may want to try lowering all sound and video settings to minimum or off, just to see if you can play the game.
