my problem is that i cant read any of the text in the option boxes while playing. i have had this issue with other games, but they had ingame ways to fix it, do you. i am playing at max res, with an nvidia 5500 card with the 61.77 drivers. my monitor is a 37 in flatscreen tv. i tried all of the in game resolutions, and they dont help. any other ideas???

Odd, I don't think anyone else has reported this particular problem. Is the text gone or just un readable?
Have you tried lower resolutions?
Fewer colors, 16-bit instead of 32-bit?
Do you have another monitor you can try? (Not a tv.)
If you are having the same issues with other games, it's possible its the video card itself or the flatscreen isn't handling the input correctly.
You can hand edit the cotn.ini file with Windows Notepad program to reduce screen resolution and the bit color amount. Just resave the file as cotn.ini when done.

its not that its unreadable as in messed up, its the size of the print, ike reading a newspaper from accross the room. i tried all of the resolutions. most other games i play have a text size option in them. this one doesn't. i'd be fine if i could just find a list of whats listed under each icon, but would still have problems when i clicked on an item. and yes it worked fine on my laptops screen. but my desktop is much faster.

Hmm, lower screen resolutions will give you larger icons and text on the screen, but I guess your monitor is so big that even that isn't going to help. Not sure what to tell you there, unless your monitor has some feature that lets you alter its performance enough that it will perform more like smaller sized monitor.
Did you try using a lower desktop resolution, as well as changing the the setting in the game?

Have a try with "clear type"

Right click on a blank area of the desktop and select Properties to get to display properties menu that Manni has shown. Then the Appearance tab.
I gave it a try here and personally didn't see much difference on my standard 17" CRT monitor. It might help on your 36" flatscreen...worth a shot.
I also tried the FONT SIZE / EXTRA LARGE FONTS on the main Appearance tab menu with COTN and again, it didn't make any difference inside the game for me. But, also worth trying with your setup.
These settings only seem to effect the Windows Desktop. I had EXTRA LARGE FONTS on while typing this and the text inside the reply box as I typed wasn't any larger than before with my usual settings. At the same time, the text under the icons on my desktop were quite large. (Too bad Phil, if you read this, I thought this might be a help to you on the boards, but it didn't seem to work.)

Unless flat screen TVs are different from crt TVs they don't display computer content at the same level of clarity as computer monitors. That would explain why the text isn't a good on a TV as it would be on a computer monitor.
