My computer broke a few months ago. And, for a variety of reasons, I made a vow that I wasn't going to get a new computer until I graduated from college with a degree.

And by God if the Children of the Nile game isn't weakening my resolve. :D

I can't think of a better reason for your resolve to weaken, mate. ;)

You'll do fine CD. ;) You're doing pretty well in college there, and as long as your car stops breaking down...you'll be set. lol.

I bought my first IBM-PC just so that I could play X-Wing... Waiting to get a new computer to play CotN sounds about right, AB. :)

I just hope my P4 at home is strong enough to run this game; it looks great.

It certainly looks like we'll have to break down and buy a new system. Good thing that this game isn't slated for release until the holiday season :) I might be able to save some money up. Until then I will always have our laptop to play on I suppose.

(And at least our old system has the minimum requirements as listed in the FAQ. If just barely...)

My PC meets the recommended requirements. Then again, I needed it for my college programming. (Wich will be completed in june, no more lessons :), and thus freeing him up completely)

It seems funny that you use the German word!!

Really.............I don`t think there is reason for Angst.
Having seen the technical demands for CotN they don`t appear enormous to me.
I mean..............for example take Sim City 4 which is greedy. Another is Anno 1503 .

I do not know about the prizes in USA but in Germany one can get a well-above-medium-pc for reasonable money.

Nowadays they are sold in grocer-stores as well as in gas-stations.........

Prices are pretty cheap in the US for computers even some pretty high end, almost all come with 512mb of ram :p They should drop even more by mid-July when the new processors and motherboards production is in full swing :)

How are you getting through college without a computer?!

I mean, for sure, there are computer labs, but I use my computer all the time, and it would be a major pain to have to use the computer labs. Papers, email, (not to mention the department announcements all come through email), the internet.....

And AIM. (or trillian, if you prefer). OK, maybe that is only my school, because the phones in the rooms are extremely local calling area only and so everyone has cell phones. But reception is really spotty (you can have it one minute and lose it the next), so people communicate with IMs as the reliable way of contacting someone.

<<seems funny that you use the German word!!>>

It's an english word, too, but it means something slightly different. It doesn't mean fear as much as it does.... oh, melodrama. Think teenagers, and you have the perfect definition of angst in english.

But I assume from your post that you are german? I'm studying german a little (I'm taking german 6 right now). Beware, I might butcher the poor language, practicing it out on you.
