Hi ,
I would appreciate a bit of help with COTN. Game loads Ok. But after pressing proceed after selecting a mission, the game crashes and I am asked to send an error file to Microsoft. I have installed patch with no luck. Have uninstalled game; run virus check (all OK) and reinstalled with virus check off. Same problem. Have tried changing screen resolution; same problem. Any ideas guys as No 2 son is most unhappy:(
Enclosed is DXdiag file
TIA
Larry

Here are a few points which I think could solve the problem:
physical memory: 766MB RAM
Page File: 216MB used, 1277MB available Good settings!
-------------------
plenty of cpu
-------------------
Card name: RADEON 9200 Display Memory: 128.0 MB
instead of: Current Mode 1152 x 864 (32 bit) (75Hz)
Do try 1024 x 768 16 bit and 60 Hz
------------------
your ATI driver is from: 3/3/2004
do try the latest which is version 5.13 from 8 days ago
Best is to use a driver-cleaner before installing the new driver.
------------------
Your sound-driver for your Intel(r) Integrated Audio sound-chip-on board
is from: 8/17/2001 which is antique
do try a newer one from Intel.
------------------------
I guess you don`t have XP SP2 because there is no room on hard-drive anymore................:p ;)

Which drive is the game installed on?
If it's on drive D: you don't have enough room left to run the game on that drive.

Even your C drive is very short on space since recommended free space for windows is 20% of the drive. As for your Ati card the oldest drivers you can use that are know to work with CotN are dated August 2004.

the refresh rate of the monitor shouldn't matter, as long as it is below 75hz, at least. it is almost certainly the drivers. if not the drivers, lowering the resoultion and color depth should defintely help.
