HI, it sometimes crashes in the menus not always but sometimes. When I try and play the actual game at all, the map loads, then it just freezes, it flickers in the top left corner then just dies, freezes the whole computer.
Please help!

Edit: I just got a message saying somthing about my ATI card or something.

ive reinstalled a couple of times, and still I have never been able to play it for over 10 seconds. Heres an updated dxdiag.

It just worked for about a minute perfectly, but then crapped out. Please help, I really hope I didnt waste my money.

Hopefully you uninstalled all the ATI driver and software files you had before you changed versions.

Your audio drivers may be a little old. You may try to update (http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/dlac97-2.aspx?lineid=5&famid=12&series=8&Software=True) those as well.

Also, check your ATI or Catalyst control panel/center and try disabling the "SmartGART" setting and see if that helps.

ok, I did system restore so I know long have those drivers, same problem, it works for 4 secs to 30 secs, then the screen shuts off, so does the sound. Ill try updating my sound. How do I uninstall my old drivers first? And which sound Driver do I download?
Thanks, hope I can get this working.

Did you shut down your virus scanner before installing and trying to play? Have you defragged recently.

ok, before the next time I install I will:
Update my sound drivers (done)
Update my video drivers (doing now)
Scan Disk
Defrag
Turn off smart GART
and finally, install the damn game!

Ill get back to you, thanks.

Ok, another thing to try. Try lowering your hardware acceleration setting for sound from the DXDIAG menu under the SOUND tab. Lower it a notch. Then close dxdiag and try running the game. If it crashes again, lower the setting another notch, etc. until you hit the minimum setting or the game starts to work.

Post another copy of your current dxdiag.txt file that shows the new drivers installed so we can be sure all went correctly there.
