Drivers (video & sound) are up to date. So is my XP. No anti-virus on while installing the game (and switching cd’s). Patch works. Still… every damn time I try to play either in tutorial or campaign mode game crashes. Monitor goes into power save mode and computer jams. Ctrl+alt+del does not work. I read everything that tech support has suggested and done all that. But no help.

Your ATi driver is from 12 Jan 2004 - which is NOT up to date. The driver version 4.11 is known to be good, and the most current version 5.2 seems to be working fine on quite a few systems by now, so you should try to update your graphics drivers. There are quite a few threads around here describing that procedure in detail, look for postings by 'Manni'.

That's why I told him to look for your postings, because everything has already been posted there.

Risen_Osiris, you currently have your monitor set for a 85Hz refresh rate.
Try lowering to 60Hz and see if that works.
If it does then try a higher setting. I generally run at 75hz on my system.

What I did was that I uninstalled the whole damn video card directory. And reinstalled everything. And got the latest version of Catalyst or what so ever (5.2) from Ati web page. And I have absolutelly no idea why my DxDiag still shows the video card installation is from 12 Jan 2004 after reinstalling & updating.
Same **** --> ain't working. Game crashes & power save mode & all jammed. Nice that you folks make well working games. I guess I'll have to return the game to the store and get my money back.

There is definitely something wrong there somewhere. I am running the game just fine on a ATI 9800 Pro with 4.10 Catalyst drivers and the game does not crash or have any problems.
Did you uninstall the drivers and the Catalyst control panel? You must do both.
There is catalyst uninstaller program on the ATI site you can use.

I was wondering.... Do you use the Cool'n'quiet feature of your AMD CPU?

As I'm writing this, the game is running in the background and I'm freely switch to it again to check my progress. No crash so far.
You see the timestaps of my driver, and the version which are both different from yours: I'm actually using 5.2 and it's working fine.
So I'm sorry to say that somehow your PC got mixed up, so unstalling and cleaning and reinstalling drivers seems to be the only way out. This applies to the graphics driver, but also to the sound driver which might be outdated. I'm afraid it's not the game...
Good luck with all further efforts to get things straight!
