Patch does not work

I try to install the patch
it asks me where the game is installed and I show him the main directory of the game:
("g:\games\ic")
than I click ok
and a message appear:
"g:\game\ic\cotn.exe: unknown version"

what does that mean? what should I do?

Did you download the correct language version of the patch? The patch language version and the game language version must match.

What language is your copy of CotN?

The only other reason than the one above would be that your game is already 1.2 or you have a illegally copied version of the CD.

it is legal copy... (I work in a computer shop so I do not illigaly copy games.. :))

I am not sure what version I have though
this game arrived to isreal only after the patch released
the game however still has the bugs of version 1.0
(stacking retainers and such)

when I installed the game it asked me in which languege so I chose english
but I do not know if my version is Us or Uk

Ok, try this.

Open the folder where you have the game installed on your hard drive.

Right click on the cotn.exe file and select "Properties".

Then click on the Version tab.

In the list of information click on Language and the language version of your game should appear in the right column (see image below).

It should say either U.S. English or U.K. English.

I try to installed the Uk and it worked
than I remeber the Hed-Arzi (the distrebution campeny) always import games from uk...

but now I have a new question:
why does the us patch takes 35MB and the uk only 1.7MB????

The non-U.S. versions of the game came out 4 months after the U.S. version and probably had the first patch included.

The U.S. 1.2 patch includes the 1.1 patch and the 1.2 patch that is why it is so big.

I'm guessing that when they localized the game for UK English they just forgot to change the language I.D. tag in the properties and it still shows U.S. even though it is U.K. english.
