I've read many of the threads re: older nvidia driver vs the newer one.

I'm not having any tech problems (yet, knock on wood), with all options on high, but on the 'really large maps' it does get a tiny bit jerky - I figured this was just because of the size of the map/my older video card etc. but thought I'd ask:

Have any of you who are using the newer nvidia driver and have little to no problems with the game, tried switching over to the old driver anyway, to see if the game ran any better etc? And if so, did it?

My very basic system specs if they're of any use:
P4-3ghz
1GB RAM
GeForce4 ti4200 AGP 64RAM (maybe the low video RAM is the slow-down? I know it's old :P)
WinXP (no service packs installed)

"No service packs" should not be the reason.
Your pc is a powerfull fella..........except for the 64Ram from the graphic card........I`d say.
With huge maps in ANY game the card has to "work hard" to show all and "keep things moving". More buildings/more people=more trouble for the card to "present" all.

Your card does not seem to fit the splendid other lot.

It is as though you put on a fur coat and bowler hat and step out in the snow............BAREFOOT...........Know what I mean?

Hehe...yes I do know what you mean.

We bought the parts and built the PC only this week, and I just threw in the card that I was using in my ancient old system. :D
I'm the sort who goes 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' - but I do want to buy a newer AGP card soon, before they all disappear in favor of that new vid tech...

Sounds like a good job done! After all.......it`s running!

I couldn`t do that!
I think with a better card you are on the "winning side". :)
