Well, it SHOULD work. Maybe you can update your display drivers? Look out on www.ati.com and look for driver version 4.11 - to be found in the 'older drivers' section.

Hello Speedy,

it looks as though you are using a laptop, therefore you should NOT use any driver from the main ATi-page but go to your mobile-manufactors page.

The main ATI page says this:

Display drivers and multimedia applications for notebooks with ATI graphics solutions are available for download from your Notebook manufacturer.

You can read the full advice and what to do best here:

http://www.ati.com/support/products/pc/laptops/index.html

----------------------------
I have just had a look for you.......
I found your laptop at Toshibas and the right type. You can go straight to

http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU

and see for yourself.

The one you want is number 11 counting the list from the top downwards. Number 12 ist the graphic driver you use at the moment...the 6.13.10.6280 from 26.5.2003

You can download and install the 6.14.10.6476 from the 7.2.2005 (brandnew)
You can clearly see yourself that the driver is for Toshiba/Ati-graphic.

Good luck!

------------------------
Sorry......but the link does NOT take you to the driver, therefore take a look at the attached screenshot first and fill it up as shown underneath.

Oh, I didn't know this... so for laptops you always have to use special driver versions?

Oui mon cher Teaubing........... ;) ...as long as those laptops only have a graphic-chip inside.
Normally the system gives a fault-message if one tries to bang in a Catalyst-driver.

Hello Claudia,

nice to hear that it works now.
And you`ve managed to install the driver all yourself................there`s a good girl!

Do have a look (when you have a break with CotN :D) onto our German page. It also hosts the "Kinder des Nils" and there is plenty going on! :)

Even better -- have the display go black when the laptop boots up into windows. Fortunately it still displayed in Safe mode off recovery disk AND the external monitor mode DID still work (Ive used it since in that mode because I wasnt sure if system would crash if I tried to back out the Nvidia drivers -- it was my old laptop so it wasnt as critical to leave it that way).
