Still Not Working

Okay, I've downloaded new SB drivers and downloaded the 61.77 Nvidia and still the game will not load. What else can we do?

Forgive me if I missed an earlier post on this.

Here are several things to try in order of ease of trying.
(Turn off virus protection).

Try putting the CD in your other CD Drive.

Where on the loading sequence does it lock? Does it lock up before you even see the progress bar start, or is it almost finished before it locks up?

There is only a very small chance this will fix it, but it is easy to try. Set your windows desktop resolution to whatever the 'native mode' of your monitor is and then set it to 32 bit color.


If all else fails, then give this a shot-

-Uninstall
-Defrag your hard drive.
-Reinstall and try again. (Don't bother patching until you get the game up and running.)

I've tried all of them and so far nothing. When I go to load the game it comes up with the "Please Wait" screen with the progress bar at the bottom but nothing is moving/processing. Just locks up immediately. I can tell you there is a load problem becouse I can here the windows error sound in the background. unfortunately all I can do when it locks up is shut the PC down and restart. What are we going to do now.

There is a newer SB LIVE! driver update at SoundBlaster you can download from February 2003. That may help. Unfortuantely that is the latest that they have.

Did you update your SB Live! drivers?

Your dxdiag still shows a date of 2002. The newer ones shoule be 2003.

There are two audio driver updates for SB Live! one is smaller and requires that you download another update and install that first, the other is larger (the one you should probably get) and it doesn't need the previous installation of that other file.

Hey everybody. I decided to scratch the SB live card and got a new one. Tweeked a couple of video settings and the game started right up. Thanks guys. Just to pass on make sure you run the game in 32 bit. I haven't played in dept yet but it looks promising. Thanks again guys.
