[I posted this in the Strategy section originally but maybe this is the better spot for it]

Hello,

Once I got fairly far along into my game (maybe on my 4th or 5th Pharoah) , I noticed that my Royal family could not get any common or luxury wares.
After checking out and eliminating probable causes (plenty of all types available, high taxes collected, shops close by, plenty of servants though I don't think the palace uses them), I noticed that the woman of the household never tries to go shopping.

Instead she is always viewing the realm or hearing cases, which I thought were supposed to be functions of the male royals. The palace has been in this state for the life of 2-3 Pharoahs now.

Any thoughts on how to get her to go shopping?

Yes i think itīs a bug maybe two.

1:The bubble info is not correct
When there are no princesses in the palace the children of the household shows up in the bubble "woman of household".

2:I think there is no chance to get new princesses. So nobody goes for shopping.

Does she have any food to go shopping with? If you have zero bread that will be a big problem.

Hi Cindichaos & Koppi,

Do you have save games you can post that show this. If so, please post them.

Thanks,

Greg

I think this is happening in my game too. I used to have 2/2 royal family then 1/1 and I noticed the palace didnt have enough goods. I tried spamming shops and servants all around the palace but it didnt help. My royal family never grows.

I have plentful bread and goods too - the elite homes nearby the palace are fine.

I guess I should study the palaces buying habits...

For what its worth... Im playing Son of Ra too

This is weird. When I reloaded the game, it show me no princess at all now. But I rebooted and restarted the game last night and she was still there.

I'm attaching an earlier version that still shows her.

Maybe itīs time for another edict. "A new princess for the pharao" and he have to pay for it :)

Also after a reboot still no princess.

Another observation: The childs of the Pharao shows up in the bubble "woman of household" but when you click on this bubble you cannot follow them. If you click on the empty bubble you can follow the kids.

Save attached.

Granting new Princesses (and Princes) looks like an easy event to do in the editor. I also seem to recall seeing a marriage event in the editor but can't find it now.

Doing a foreign envoy to Babylon and swapping daughters as wifes to seal the diplomatic peace becomes standard for some Pharaohs. Setting that up as an event is an option for any scenario designer. Heck, you could follow Djedu's lead, build a fleet of ships to discover new kingdoms, except you get a new Princess from every Kingdom you open trade up with. The Seven Princesses of Pharaoh Henry the 8th. :p

@cindychaos

I loaded your 2nd Save and there where not Princess and no childs in the palace.
Let run the game for some years and waiting the pharao dies.
There was a new pharao just wondering from where he come ???

BTW all possible trade routes are open :D

Hi Koppi,
I downloaded you waset, confirmed your problem, and started to play around a bit... ;)

Not fooling around with little here and there, I decided to bulldoze your palace. Once done, there were 3 vagrants and two road tiles 'under' the former palace so I deleted them too. Then I made sure nothing else 'automatically' would move there. I placed a new palace at the location 90 degrees turned with entrance at road facing the cult temple and rebuilt with all the options - it took about 3 years. All is well now, under woman of household you have 2! princesses and under children there are three. No more yellow and everybody goes about there business.
(New learning experience for me was there can be more than one individual 'hiding' under the buttons...single click the button to scroll through the individuals) - how kewl is that? :D

PS, have a save game if you are interested...

Thanks C.Franziskus

Deleting the palace is a workaround i have also used before. But i was wondering what happens without them.

I had a vagrant near the palace and road tiles under the palace but i think this has nothing to do with the problem. Delete the palace and set him on the same place with the same direction the family is also back again.

Each family can have a maximum of 3 childs. If they where outside the house you can switch from kid to kid with the forward and backward button.
