Looked around and didn't see a post on this so...
I find when I switch (or declare) a god for a shrine, it instantly switches (the statue changes) with no work done by any bricklayer (which I have plenty of). But I don't think it's actually worked as I get people visiting but imediately walking out again and it never shows any people served for the year also more and more people are becoming unsatisfied over time. I've noticed this on two campaign maps (1st and 2nd on Easy) now.
Bug or am I missing something here.
Thanks

You can change the the god that is worshipped in a shrine.
It does not requie the labour of a bricklayer or anything else for that matter (shrines only...temples and cult temples need the services of a stone carver) From your post the only thing that i can work out is that you are changing your mind once you have dedicated a shrine...once dedicated try not to change it unless you feel that you have to...saving on walking time for yor peeps for example.
they are walking out of the shrine because it is not the god that they wished to worship when they left their homes and it is not serving the peeps needs for that reason also....
so once dedicated just leave it and see if that helps.

Hello, is that a change from the help? In the help it says a bricklayer will reuse the bricks (from the old statue in the shrine) but he will still have to go over to change the statue over (A clay statue I assume).
I've left it and still no one serviced. I've followed someone who's going to visit Hapi and my shrine was set on Hapi in advance (bad flood) and still went in and out.

hmmm...i must admit that if i ever change a shrine dedication it is only the once and have not noticed bricklayers go to the shrine but i may be wrong in saying they never go there, i just have never noticed.
a new statue changes automatically and i have not seen a drop in my peeps satifaction..
i jumped into my game just now and changed a shrine from Isis to Ra...no bricklayers came (so that question is solved) and people used the shirne with no problem.
so i am at a loss....
Is the shrine open?
are preists going to the shrine?
how many times have you changed the god dedication?
are you sure, 100% positive that the shrine has been deidicated?

Ok thanks, will give it a shot. Hard to tell as unlike red housewares or red health you don't see an imediate drop to yellow after a visit, it also doesn't show a 'attending service' or something like that as you get in the temples, very quick.

Ok left it alone and it does works as it shows people served now, it's still off though in two ways though. According to the help it should require a bricklayer to change the statue (triple checked that :) ) and it seems it doesn't (documentation change needed :P ). Also I've never seen it say '3 being served' like it does in the temples. Maybe that's only because no priest is actually there when I've looked (they just seem to open the door and move on with shrines) unlike the temple.
Those two things combined and the usual lag with people getting satisfied really had me going there for a while. Thanks for the help.

You can change the shrine instantly. When you select it if it has a blue light over it, it is active. It's active for a time after a priest visits it.

And, yes, a priest just goes in, lights the incence (or some such) and leaves. I can cover around 6-8 shrines with one priest. :p
