The fastest way to fix it right now while waiting for Patches is to delete that Noble house and plop it again :p

Make sure you have the door way facing an open area you might have them trapped in the house.

Ha! You think that's bad? Check this out: my QUEEN is stuck in the palace. That's right, Pharaoh's household ain't getting any wares because she's walking into a wall perpetually (trying to get to the courthouse)
I'm also having a serious issue with imported steles/statues/limestone getting stranded on the ground because the laborers trying to haul it seem to want to get stuck inside the barge landing. Seriously, I don't think that's a geometry issue, I've tried reorienting the landings.
I wonder how this didn't come out in beta? It's a pretty big bug...

Yup, I'm having the same problem as mentioned. The icon (see picture attached) for woman of the house shows that the Prince is at court but he's still stuck in the Palace when I click to locate him. The Palace hadn't had any houseware since Generation VIII untill the time I snaphot it. The Pharaoh is still working properly, except the Queen. No Queen means no warez, no warez mean no soups :p

Although I have not yet been able to play CotN, I really hope that a patch will soon be developed to correct the problem with ingame characters being stuck in the most unfortunate locations.
Perhaps this is one of the few benefits of having such a delayed exposure to the game --- insofar as most of the remaining "bugs" will have been identified and (hopefully) corrected in a patch or two by the time I do obtain CotN. :p

Hey all - first post in the forums.
I love the game so far but I too have had some unfortunate events befall my hapless citizens. One particular incident involved a bricklayer being buried in the ground up to his head. Needless to say he wasn't getting much work done.
Another issue I had was with a city guard in combat with a raider. The guard seemed to be frozen in place while the raider whacked at him for a couple of day/night cycles. Eventually the raider seemed to die from exaustion and the guard dispelled his "stone form" spell and went on with his business.
I kinda think these bugs are more entertaining than annoying. How can you get mad when some poor peasant in buried up to his neck in dirt?

As time goes by, my Pharaoh family steps to generation XII (12), but the "sticking" problem won't get solved. That impacts my Pretige points, from 20 down to 18 :( . There're 2 options for me to solve this. One, keep waiting to see what happens in next generations. Two, use B-52 to flat that stronghold and rebuild a new Palace :D :p

So you're complaining because your prestige has dropped from 278 to 276... cry me a river buddy
I have considered this course of action too, but it seems to me that the cost of nuking and rebuilding the palace is prohibitive, what with the even bigger prestige hit (and mine ain't at 276, let me tell you) and the loss of 10 taxable farms, plus the time and cost of rebuilding all the improvements.
On the other hand, if I nuke the palace, does the royal family become vagrants? That might be fun to try in a sandbox :D

As a point of interest (to a non-player), what is a really good prestige score? :)

You'll get more response on the other forums, but my 10-nobles city runs fine with around 60 prestige (IIRC). Beyond that, it's gravy. Mine rarely goes above 200, and I only hit that in Men-Nefer, where I was forced to build the grand pyramid. :D

The more Prestige point you have, the more educated workers you can lead. If your Prestige points allow you to lead is at 10, you can only hire 10 graduated workers work for you, even you have millions of graduates in your city. The 10 is not your prestige point. It's just the number you can hire workers at the time. Actual prestige points vary and be depended on events happen in your city.
I still don't fully understand how the prestige points work, but I'd like to gain it as much as I can, even 1/2 point :p . Cause gaining them is hard, keeping them is harder, but loosing is very easy :D

Thank you so much for this interesting reply .... obviously the Grand Pyramid is the kingpin wrt prestige. :)

I've heard of some from 200 to 500+ points.. but thats for the gods of the game.
LOL how about trying Voice of Sobek and see how high pr we can get and have ten or more nobles?

Your prestige points will drop slightly because monuments, statues, obelisks, steles lose some of their prestige impact over time. Small mastaba that gave you 3 prestige points when it was new will ony give you one when it gets much older.
Having pharaoh die without a tomb is a big pretige hit too.

j13waldman: Welcome and congrats on your first CotN post! :)
The bricklayer being buried is an artifact of a structure being built on a slope. He'll make those bricks OK. It makes for some fun screenshots... someone ought to start a thread for those!
Someone posted that the guards need weapons (e.g., spear from weapon maker) to be effective against raiders. So maybe he was stoically taking his whacks wishing he had a spear  ?
Keep on postin' :D

Son of Moose: Depends on what "good" is... * joke *
1. "Good" as in build a large city: Can maintain a large city with armies etc. while keeping prestige under 100.
2. "Good" as in build a mega city: In Normal can get the max of 35 elites at about 200 prestige. After that there's no incentive to increase prestige, but rather to maintain it.
3. "Good" as in blow the charts for the heck of it: Like JuliaSet sed'... the prestige gods are approachin' 500. My personal best in retail is 206.
Spoiler:
4. Spoiler: The higher your prestige, the higher the points you lose when your pharaoh dies... The only way to compensate is to have bigger and bigger tombs ready. A really big tomb will balance out the death just about right. A piddly tomb for a mega pharaoh won't do beans!

It had better be, given how long it takes to build. :D And yes, it gives you beaucoup prestige, even more when you have a pharoah buried in it.

I really feel that one should (wherever humanly possible) remain friendly. :) One can actually probably achieve a great deal more by actively appealing to people's better sides.
This is why I get somewhat upset when there are misunderstandings in the forum which regretably sometimes lead to friction. :o I think that you will find that the VAST MAJORITY of our members are really nice and friendly. :)
Btw: I REALLY like your clear and instructive replies to various gameplay-related issues. :) I have certainly learned a lot about CotN this way. :D

I found that if you destroy and rebuild a tomb for a Noble, you will get back its original prestige which it lost over time.
Plus, make extra ones for anyone, alot of luxury merchants and members of the royal and noble family seem to fill them up - stick them way out in the desert.

One possible feature request is to allow manual resets: Highlight a family member and hitting "Home" would delete the walker, erase everything he was carrying, make him reappear at home, and set the status to "Do nothing".
Another solution is to create a walker timestamp field set to the current gametick when they go off on a new task. When they complete a task the timestamp is zeroed again until the next task is chosen. Each walker has an overtime field (so Overseers are given more time to do tasks than a farmer) Periodicly (say every autosave) a SELECT is ran for any walkers for whom (Current_tick - task_timestamp) > expected_task_time. These get deleted, placed at home with "Do nothing" and lose all their goods.
Call it housekeeping. Let us toggle on and off housekeeping somehow, since it will cause a CPU hit.
