Not in the FAQ, When you first enter TM's Site, you see a nice entrance graphic, and it says at the bottom: Strategy, Simulation, Role-playing.
Are you refering to role playing as an RPG refers to it, or in a different way? Can we expect a RPG game (akin to Baldur's Gate), from TM? Or is the role-playing the role we take on as Pharaoh in building our city? (And later, whatever other roles you have in the works.)

I never played Baldur's Gate, but I do love RPGs. KQ, LoL, the Kyrandia trilogy to mention a few. I would love to see more games like than so I can kick Orc butt! :D
I tried the Hobbit, but it was a little too strange for me, not too mention slightly difficult.
RPGs seem to have gone the way of the wagon train. Nice idea in it's time but not practical now. :(

I don't know...NWN and TES 3:MW seem to have a strong following. My problem is that I couldn't get past the differences between the BG games and NWN/Morrowind. Then there's the Deus Ex series, which are more RPG/FPS hybrids.
To take your analogy further, the wagon train is now motorized and armored, but still a wagon train :D

Their is a very large following for RPG's Neverwinters night's forum has over 2 million registered members And with games like Knights of the old republic 2 coming out soon And TES 4 a lot of RPGs have been appearing on consoles but they have cut the RGP element down a bit so they are more like deus ex. And there is a large market in MMPORPG with new ones coming out all the time. I hate to say it but it is most probably a bigger market than city building.

I'm not sure of the distinction of what's an RPG and what isn't either.
Isn't Lionhead's Fable an RPG?
Grand Theft Auto has skills that improve with use, levelling, quests, side quests, buying equipment. It's not a dungeon crawl, but it seems an RPG also.

There are a lot of diffrent types these days games like Deus ex GTA SA have added the skill improvments to a FPS up game so yes they are FPS RPG I think a lot more games will start doing this as it helps the games a lot I read that you evan get better at driveing cars or bikes in GTA SA so with the bikes you dont fall off so often. A lot more FPS should have some kind of RPG ellement in it to keep us intrested and stimulated while you play. :D

Ok Guys! Dummy here! I don't understand all those letters. I know what FPS is, but TES? NWN? MMPORPG?
I finally figured out that NWN is Never Winter Nights. My hubby has the Deus X game, but it didn't look like anything I would like.
KQ8 was ok... but it kinda lost something. The main character looked like a paper doll.
I will check out some of the websites for the games you mentioned.
Thanks

NanaBanana:
MM(P)ORPG --- Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. :D
The MMO prefix can be added to many of the genres --- such as RTS. :)
Personally, I would love to see the advent of MS(P) [Massive Single Player] games where one could play against 32, 64 or even 128 computerised opponents --- provided that they could display a wide range of ai tactics. :D
