I think I get the honour to be the first non staff member to post :) Just received the press release, and after checking out the site I'm impressed. I'm a long time fan of other city building games (Pharaoh, Emperor, Zeus, Ceasar) & 'deeper' RTSs (Settlers, Cultures), as well as being a long time fan of A Tale in the Desert (http://www.atitd.com) (which very loosely speaking is a MMOG game which revolves around human interaction, technology & city building). So CotN seems right up my street and I'll be watching it's development closely.
Looking around the site, I was wondering to what level the tech tree will be going to? Personally, I'm very much of a fan of deeper the better. Also how dependant on combat is the game? I like the way games like Pharaoh gave you the choice to do a more commerce led game if you wanted.

I would also like to say hi. Iīm also a big fan of the city building series, and have gotten every game in it except caesar II and Zeus.
I really look forward to this game, as I like about every game the employees of Tilted Mill has made.

Hello!
I've been checking the site a lot the last couple of days. And finally, it's all up. I've been playing the Citybuilders since C3 and first visited the old Impressions board almost 3 years ago before becoming a regular visitor of HeavenGames and CityBuildingContests. Now.. off to read the stuff on the actual website. :D

Good to see so many of the usual suspects gathering already. The anticipation is most definitely building.
My only worry is that I'll need to keep a towel next to my PC to catch all the drool :)
Can't wait...

Hello everyone,
I can't even put into words how happy I am now. I find it very fitting that my first foray into the city-building realm of gaming was with Pharaoh nearly three years ago, and now I'm here to witness the birth so to speak of the next Egyption epic. I was horrible at Pharaoh, but I loved (and still love) it anyway, and it led me into the other city builders that I adore so much now. Okay, enough sappiness. Does this game look gorgeous or what!?

I'm here too! Another guy from the Old Eight Faiths Inn. The Lords of Magic forum. My buddy CD (Celebithil Dae) seems to have beaten me in registering since he was the one who informed me that the forum was up. (Yay!!!) Hi y'all! And hi Chris (and all of Tilted Mill)! Good to see you guys start your own company. With Impressions Games being shut down, you're a huge bright spot in the gaming industry.

Heya, mate! Glad to see ya here! No doubt a lot of Innmates (Lords of Magic Forum people) will be showing up here soon. Hehe.

Hello Azeem! Good to see you've joined us (CD and myself) here!
And yes, the whole community hopes for a game at least in the spirit of Lords of Magic, if not a direct sequel, since rights to the franchise are probably a bit hard to come by. But a Fantasy/Strategy game just like LoM would be great!
Oooh...Children of the Nile should be good!!! :)

Hello all!
Pharaoh has been a favorite for years. I've tried the other City Building games but always come back to Pharaoh.
COTN sounds so good. I haven't looked forward to a new game this much ever.
Playing city building games adds an interesting dimension to looking at current events. I keep thinking 'Rebuilding Iraq' or 'Rebuilding Afghanistan' would make interesting City Building games.

Mouse: The Imps games I have are: Lords of Magic Special Edition, Caesar II, Caesar III, Civil War Generals I. I've wanted to buy the rest, but there are monetary retrictions. ;)
Parrotslave: The main reason I wouldn't want to see a city building game on things like Irag/Afganistan is that politics are too heavily involved since it's a current event. And politics is not really something I want in games.

ElvenYou can get the entire series of the old citybuilders in a combination package called The Biggest Creators of Empires. It should run you less than the cost of a single new game and contains Caesar III, Pharaoh/Cleopatra, Zeus/Poseidon, and Emperor.
Or look for Great Empires Collection 2 which has them all except for Emperor.
