 Has anyone else noticed the L-A-R-G-E increase in the number of people joining the forum in the past few day? Could it be a result of the upcomming beta test ;)
Im so excited to see the growth! My hat off to the TM team, your fans are comming out of the woodwork!

We had some 250 members before the announcement.. go figure :p .
It's getting harder to keep up with the posting though.. luck to those who have to read all posts :p .

This rapid growth in membership certainly augers well for future sales of CotN. Hopefully Tilted Mill will have a major hit with their first product. :)

It's been relatively quiet here for months with just a small core of us hanging about.;) In some ways I'm sorry to see that happen, but it's good for the game that so many people are becoming aware of it.

Yeah, true. I also see that we have a few of them playing that old "my-username-is-first" game too.

Yes --- I suppose that some of the long-standing members of the forum might be somewhat miffed if the new members (perhaps somewhat unkindly referred to as "Johnny-come-lately's") were to trump them in this honour. :(

Just provide the list sorted by number of posts :D - then honour is to the right people. It is no honour at all to be listed first in alphabetical order...

I would guess that like me, many of the newbies are folks that lurked for a long time. I’m an old CBer but only recently took the opportunity to sign up on the forum...however it was before the beta posting :D I have been keeping an eye on TM since they left Impressions.
Oh and BTW

Its only an honor to be #1 in postings if you have something worth while to say

I second that!! ;)
Heretics!
I take pride in both the quality and quantity of posts and in fact, I list my post rank on my resume. It is the people with no posts who should be ashamed of themselves.

I must admit that I have a sneaking desire to graduate to the most desired position of Senior Member.
I will certainly have to work hard on my number of posts to achieve this mighty ambition!!
Nevertheless, I hope that my fellow members might derive some pleasure and interest from my posts. However, I fully realise that beauty is in the eye of the beholder ... ;)

Most of your posts are certainly interesting Son of Moose but really.. isn't it better to be a Member with good posts than Senior Member who spams? (Not that you do that). I'm quite sure that the Devs (or some of them) read a lot of posts in the various meaningful threads and if the posts they read are useful I doubt they care about how much the user has posted before.

Emperor Jay:
Thank you for your kind words. :) Yes indeed --- you are totally correct. It is quality rather than quantity that counts. I must admit that I was being just slightly ironic in my previous post. ;) I think that we all know of people who spam forums with totally bizarre posts that make no sense at all. [All the regular members at the SR2010 forum will be able to readily identify one particular individual who has started cluttering up the forum with his increasingly irrelevant posts ...]
I hope to continue to actively participate in these forums as long as I have access to my broadband connection. It is due for renewal early next month ...
With kindest regards

I just hope to be on the 1st page for total posts someday, and I'll settle for "member."

Seriously, to me there is nothing more distracting than someone that obviously is trying to boost his/her post count, but doesn't contribute anything of substance to the thread.

It's not about how often you have something to say, but what you have to say that counts. http://members.aol.com/dheitm8612/animated/smilewinkgrin.gif

Agree!
***how often you have something to say, but what you have to say that counts***
I read the most but there are some threats a bit "away" from the theme itself.

Don't underestimate the value of small talk. In some sense that makes a board live like this one, it's not only content...

I didd't know we was keeping track but i am in the top 20 (no 16 at time of post) which is good for me as I norrmaly don't get pased 10 or so post on a forum before I stop usining it :p

No in members list you can select posts and see who is the biggest poster I then counted down the list at the time I was on 86 posts :D

Thanks for this information. :)
These pages (42 in all) certainly form an interesting scoreboard if used in this way. :) From a quick scan, I see that Emperor Jay has recorded an impressive 439 posts!! Congratulations :D

I hardly ever post at forums because i usually have very little new or informative to say. (This post being a good example of how i don't have anything useful to add.) One of my reasons for joining any forum is to get the "new post" icons since they make reading the posts much easier (for me, perhaps not for others). If i do feel there's something i can contribute to a thread i will post (unless i close the tab that holds the thread and forget about it until it's too late to say anything useful). (And i since i like parantheses too much, it's probably just as well that i don't post much anywhere; it would be annoying. :p )

Don't worry too much about posting only useful or informative messages! :) It's really okay to just add an opinion or support what someone else has suggested or written. It is, after all, a real community! :)
A warm welcome to those of you who newly joined -- there are still lots of snacks and drinks available!

Welcome to the CotN forum. :)
Please feel free to add your posts and share your ideas and opinions with us.
Btw: I have also been accused of being overly fond of using parentheses. :p I think that it is really a matter of personal style --- I suppose that I often tend to use complex sentences.

This is probably the friendliest forum I've ever been in. All your posts are read, all the replies are extremely kind (even the ones where your views are not agreed).. It's a pleasure to be a part of it.
P.S. Welcome, Hanna ;)

yea it is really friendly here. no flames no aggressions i hope it ll not change after the release. now all are saying their wishes and stuff like that. nothing you can really fight about. but when you have a game you have they which like it and they whiche like it not ( specialli when it is the second part of a serie)

Lets hope the friendly spirit will remain firmly in place after CotN's release. However, some intellectual and tactical debate about the game play dynamics would represent a wonderful addition. :D Just keep it friendly ... :)
