First I want to say very cool game I am loving it a lot. I played it close to 6 hours straight last night playing a Grand Campaign. I sat back down tonight to load up the game and to my surprise every time I load the game it crashes back to desktop, half way through load (no error popups or anything).
I naturally went back to early saved files (sadly i didn't keep save files all the way back to the start of the game). However, all my saved game would not load either, they all caused crashes.
I decided to start a new grand campaign and save it immediately to see if it would load without a crash. To my surprise it loaded no problem. All i can guess is my city grew so large that the game is crashing? Or maybe I built certain buildings that the game doesn't like to load up?
This is odd to me considering I played the game all last night without a single crash or even a whimper from my computer everything ran perfect. Even once my city became huge.
I have direct2drive enhanced version along with Alexandria. (just bought it last night so it was the latest version they had available for download)
Computer:
Windows XP 32 Bit (SP3) / Vista 64 Bit (SP1) - [Game installed on xp 32 bit]
Intel Core 2 Duo 3.0 GHZ
4 gig ram
Nvidia 280 GTX (latest drivers)
Any ideas on what could be causing this or a way to get my old city loaded back up again. I would hate to have lost all that time for nothing. I run a dual boot with xp 32 bit and vista 64 bit. Only thing left to try would be uninstall the game from xp and try it on vista and see if it works?
