Okay I had downloaded COTN from D2D a long time ago, I went to D2D and downloaded the patch to the enhanced verision and also bought Alexandria. I installed both and when I try to run the enhanced version or alexandria it does nothing. No error's no nothing. i checjed the path and it was installing them in the folder for another game The settlers. I deleted the game from my system and the folder and uninstalled the enhanced and Alexandria and install both again and it doesn't work and it seems like it is still trying to install it in my settlers folder even though it is gone but the icons show in the start menu under Tilted Mill, but again nothing happens, I even tried to run them as administrator but no luck with that either. Please help

My suggestion would be uninstall the entire game, reboot then reinstall starting from scatch. Hopefully that will solve your problem.

Ok here's what your DX tells me you need to download and install new drivers for both your video card and sound. Make sure also to download and install
DX9c latest version even though you have Vista with DX 10. That should solve your problem since DX 10 doesn't have all the support needed for this game.

Let it extract in a new created folder named directX Nov 08
when extracted find the setup.exe inside and execute it
wait till the process is done
you may delete the lot cos it is in the system now :)

Thanks Manni for the great links:p
Jenelope you can try Dell's website for updated drivers using the model number of your computer. Very likely the links Manni gave are actually for better drivers than Dell's website.
Also once you have downloaded the new drivers for the video card and for the sound make sure to uninstall the old drivers before installing the new drivers.

I didn`t mention this to Jenelope dear mouse cos I am sure Jenelope will read the description and "how to do`s" on the sites..........:)

Okay, I think I updated my drivers but when I try to update DirectX it goes through the whole download and install but I still show DirectX 10, also when I try to download from Microsoft it won't let me install it because it says I have a more recent version

Okay, I think I updated my drivers Partly..........the Nvidia-graficdriver is installed but you still have the same "old" audio driver according to the fresh dxdiag-file.
On my audio-link I want you to take this driver from the list there:
Vista Driver (32/64 bits) Driver only (ZIP file) R2.13 2008/12/31
but when I try to update DirectX it goes through the whole download and install but I still show DirectX 10, also when I try to download from Microsoft it won't let me install it because it says I have a more recent version
Did you use the "web-update-function"? This won`t work with VISTA.
You want to download the full exe and install it "at home".
Here is the full redist exe for download :
