CoTN Quad Core Crashes..

Downloaded CoTN from D2D - Enhanced Edition - 3 Days on again off again crashes... Scoured forums... tried everything suggested (Vista management, DX management, Game management, 3 reinstalls, driver updates, etc.) Is this simply unplayable on a Quad Core??? Demo dwnld of CoTN from Yahoo - worked flawlessly.

Did you install DX 9? It adds files to DX 10 that are needed for the game to work. It's not a processor problem it's more of a Vista problem.

tried both april 07 DX... no go ... game uninstall - re install ... then june 08 DX... no go game uninstall - reinstall - NADA

I have the very same Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs), so it can't be it. I have nvidia 8800 GTS while you have 8600 GT. One big difference seems to be that I have windows XP + DX 9 and you have Vista + DX10.

edit/ I got my COTN through Impulse and it is working fine.

I am running it on Vista ( with dual core) without any problem. There was a problem initially linked to the permission rights on savegames in documents but it should be solved. You could try however to run it as administrator.
