I find that I am unable to start children of the nile while I have my Logitech G15 keyboard plugged in; once I remove it, everything seems to work fine.

This is not an isolated issue, I had the EXACT same problem with hinterland. As a result, I have found that my money was wasted on hinterland and that while I find Children of the Nile to be interesting, I will not purchase it because of this issue.

Is there a fix planned for this issue?

Children of the Nile and Hinterland use completely different game engines. They do both use DirectInput, but there is really nothing else in common with the way they handle keyboard events that isn't just the standard way of handling keyboard input.

If you google "g15 keyboard directinput lag" you will find a number of other games with issues similar to what you describe. My hunch from reading them is that it is USB related. I have had problems with flaky USB ports on more than one computer I've owned. Perhaps it's as simple as that in combination with the g15 keyboard taking a little more power than other keyboards.

I don't wish to say anything bad about the G15 keyboard. Not everyone with G15 keyboards has problems with Hinterland and/or CotN. I also do not believe there is anything we are doing wrong with respect to the G15 keyboard on our end. I also do not know of anything we could change on our end which would have any effect on the problem you have described.
