I'm trying to load up this game on my vista laptop, I'm getting
Error 1305 something about it being unable to find data/audio/sounds/misc/chariot_3/wav , then cow_2/wav , cow_3 etc etc (forgive my mistakes, can't copy n paste)
saying that I need to verify that wav file exists and that I can access it. I'm not a tech, I'm thinking the sound files should be on the disc, I'm not updating, this is the first time this game has been loaded on my laptop, and I have already installed the update, as I assumed it was maybe a vista problem. But it didn't help.
Anyone able to give me any clues on why I can't play the game due to a lost wav. file??
Thanks!
Keith

Try installing the game from your hard drive.
Make a new folder. Then copy everything from the game CD into that folder (all files and all folders.) Then run the setup.exe file from the new temp folder.
You can delete the new temp folder and contents later.

The game isn't installing on my computer. It says Error 1305.Error reading from file C:/Documents and Settings/lisa/My Documents/sami/data/graphics/interface/backgrounds/lose_panel1.tga
Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.
What do i do to fix it?

If this is a new game, take the game back and get a new disc. That would be the simplest thing to do. It may be a bad disc or just a quirk between that disc and your CD drive.
If not, check the disc for finger prints, dirt, and scratches. The CD drive is having a hard time reading the files on the disc and these can cause problems. Clean with a soft clean cloth. Wipe from the center hub outward across the disc to the edge. Never wipe around the disc.
If the disc is severely scratched you may have to replace it with a new copy. In some cases a "disc repair kit" can be purchased that will let you repolish the scratches on the disc and the disc may then work normally again.
Try installing from a different disc drive if you have one.
If you continue to have problems installing the program, there may be a configuration or hardware problem with your CD-ROM drive.
