So, I order this game..

... and it comes in the mail. I'm all " WOO! "

I open the package and it looks different from the 'displayed' box on the front page of the website I saw in the far right corner. I install it and as I do. I read the game is of the UK region. I was kinda pissed, since, I do live in the states and I ordered the game FROM the same state as I was in and it came 5 days later.. UK version?

Anyway, I install the game. I play it without the update. Works perfectly fine.

I install the latest version of Immortal Cities : Children of The Nile 1.3v on the website. (( UK MIGHT I ADD. )) and when I complete the update. It tells me I have a 'backup copy' or error 1000.

Now, I would like to add details of this 'box' I call hell.

* The CD is blue and has the tile Sold Out Software - Quality Software at an affordable price.

* The 'BOX' looks a bit like a console box. Plastic and it 'clicks' when I open it. There are two CD's inside. Install disc 1 and disc 2.

Maybe, because the disc isn't an 'actually' copy. I might have gotten a fake game? What?

"Sold out software" is a company that sells legal versions of games not longer in production. As to why you got a UK version you will need to contact the vendor who sold you the game.
If you post your DX diag we might be able to see if there is anything about your system that we can help you with to maybe get the game to run. For example if you have "virtual drive" software running/installed that would cause problems with the copy protection of the game.

Correct. The 1.3 Patch updates CotN's Securom copy protection, if your running Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120%, or similar when starting up CotN you'll recieve a Securom error message.
