XP - Steam - German Version - No Umlauts (ä,ö,ü and ß)

Hi Folks,

my CotN Installation won't display any umlauts. The Font Files are properly installed and will be used.

I edited the laguage.txt and activated the French character set (it includes the german ASCII special chars, i guess) Unfortunately it still doesn't work.

Anyone got an idea?

I have the same problem with the french version of the game, and haven't found any solution. Playing in english now :(

I found it,

with help of this post:

install the demo over steam (about 1Gig)
Make sure that the Language Settings in Steam are set to French in demo and fullversion
look for the language.txt in your SteamApps folder and replace the one from the fullversion with the one from the demo.


The file from the demo is 2 times bigger than the file from the full game.(no more text) So I guess it's something with the file format
