Hello again
First - last night Steam updated CotN, and after the update I am no longer able to start CotN using the cotn.exe file - it tells me "Steam must be running to play Children of the Nile". This is a bit of a hassle since I can't play the game if I lose internet connectivity (which incidentally happened to me last night - to start Steam I actually had to use my cellphone to connect to the internet - otherwise Steam would just crash when I told it to start in offline mode).
Second - I am again experiencing CTD's. This time on a custom made scenario. It almost seems as if the problem arises after a certain city size (ie. too much going on, and the game just surrenders and does a CTD).
I was told in a private message that the problems could be related to USB devices, screen resolution, and pagefile issues. I have no non-essential USB devices connected to the system (only keyboard, mouse and monitor) - my screen resolution is set for the optimal resolution for my monitor (i.e. 1680x1050) - and my pagefile is set to a fixed size on a separate physcial disk which I have made a small partition on the very end of the disk to maximize pagefile performance.
Please see attached dxdiag.txt and savegame.
(Note: I have no idea why dxdiag reports 5554 mb of pagefile available. The pagefile is set to 4096 mb, and is fixed in size on partition Z: - there are no other pagefile entries in the pagefile settings.)
(Note 2: I am running the AMD Dual-Core optimizer.)
