I have a problem with a file that won't delete. It was a save file for the old Pharaoh Eye of Ra competition and it wasn't a complete download. I went to delete the file and it says that it's in used by some other application. This occurred after I tried to view the file within WinZip. The file is Empire.exe.
I have tried shutting down the computer and rebooting and then tried to delete, and I've gone in to the command mode and used the ATTRIB command to remove any READ ONLY, SYSTEM FILE, and HIDDEN attributes and tried ERASE and DEL and neither worked. I still get the same error message.
I even went into the file properties and attempted to remove the PIF properties, but they just get rewritten.
Anyone have an idea of how to get rid of this thing?
I am running XP Pro.
