Can't even get to first base getting this on!

I have for the last 2 yrs. enjoyed playing Children of the Nile off and on. I had taken my game off and when I went to put it back on to play - I can't get it to even go on. I keep getting a 1607, unable to install Shield Scripting Run Time. Have tried everything. So I send you my DXDiag.txt and hope for the best. I really do enjoy the wonder of this game. It's amazing how well you have captured the real everyday life of the Egyptian culture. I feel a lot of time and effort went into this game. Thank You.

Happy to hear CotN has been fun for you for so long! There are a few different reasons why you might be getting a 1607 error during installation; rather than go through them all in my own words, I'd like to point you to a web page InstallShield put together that I hope will help:

How did I miss this question :o And I'm afraid it's bad news. Your graphic card GeForce4 MX 420 is too old to run this game. The drivers for it are from 2002 but getting newer ones won't help you since this is a DirectX7 card when a DirectX9 one is required. Also your sound drivers are way too old. So sorry
