I recently got SimCity Societies as a gift, though I'm worried about my game even being able to install. I did a system requirements lab scan and noticed that my pc has the minimum requirements, though not the recommended requirements. Will that cause a problem? I've heard of some people attempt to install the game, though their pc is not able to even install. I've also heard about bugs such as the game crashing as soon as it gets to a certain population, is it true and will it be fixed? Am I better off returning the game (it's still unopened) or keeping it? Sorry about all these questions.
Here are my system specs:
Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (Build 2600)

System Memory: 1023.4

Processor Speed: 1999.6

DirectX Version: 9.0c

Display Device: RADEON X700 Series

Display Memory: 256.0

Display Driver: 6.14.10.6719

Sound Device: Realtek AC97 Audio

Sound Driver: 5.10.00.6090

You're going to struggle to run it with that spec. Even if you can run it, you may find the game will fail as many are suffering a runtime bug. Maybe trade it in and get Caesar IV instead.

This makes me pretty upset, though I will still install (or at least try to)the game and see what happens. I plan on upgrading my PC sometime in the future, though thanks for your help. :)

*shrugs*

Im running:

AMD 64 2800+ (1.8ghz)
2gb DDR2
7800GS AGP
RealTek AC'97 Audio
WinXP 32-bit

Latest sound and video drivers available from the core manufacturers (RealTek and Nvidia).

I'm not having any problems at all..just slow performance when my pop gets over 20k and a real bog down at 30k. That's with most graphic features turned high or max.
