Deleted the farms in the screen shot below and game stopped crashing!!!!

Ok from process of elimination i deleted the 6 honey farms in screen shots below and crashing stopped.

When i removed the honey farms the city went from Fun City and gold streets to default city

Ive also readded the honey farms with out crash incident.
Seems to be a pretty random error possibly causing all the crashes.
Im sorry i was not of more assistance to you all,
but you should be happy to know it has ran 20 hrs strait with out incident.

I guess since im here n doin this
ill compile a list of all buildings causing me crashes.

:| maybe i can wip up a simulator to simulate the simulation.

Buildings that caused random, or timed crashes "All buildings caused crashes in city below".
I guess its some were to start.

Alien Artifact Lab
Chocolate Factory
Honey Farm
Lumber Mill
Foundry
Machine Shop
Steel Mill
.................................................. .................................................. ...............

Ok tropia 3.5 has the farms and crashes promply at 5pm everytime

tropia 3.9 is with the farms deleted and runs like a champ....

Well i think i shall celebrate with a lil building finally.... :D i must confess i have played simcity... all generations since 1993 wow so many years of entertainment... and please bringback some of the complexities. I loved designing vast networks of subways n railways :D even highways. Kinda missing it ya know LOL.

Omg its still running LOL, and in the background no doubt. Now if we can just get our pipes, subways tunnels, highways, cloverleafs and connected cities in regions. Pwease.

And bigger cities ;)

I've never used farms in my buildings, and the cities still crash.

I seem the same, farms or not I can still crash.

Everyone seems to think the buildings are crashing, I dont, moving around crashes the game more often then not, plopping down buildings can also crash the game (very easily now with a large population) but I reload and I can place the same building then continue to play.

I've played for a long time (cant count the days) with plenty of farms and no crashing, even in my 'farm city's with 10+ farms, no crash.

I would have to agree with you BP.
I had crashes without placing anything at all. Just bump the camera and boom. Reload the same game and play like nothing happened.

Just like the one who mentioned saw mills and textile factorys, I had citys that had none of those buildings and couldnt get past 10-15 k in pop.

I read in a review that the game will lock out the building menu if you start running out of memory. Im wandering if there is a bug in that part of the program. Instead of locking the menu its making a bad call and the run dll thinks the game is quitting/stopping.

The crash occurs at the end of the workday for each of those buildings -- 5PM. Can you tell us what kind of special effects your city buildings have on income from those workplaces? I would do it myself but the game crashes pretty much before I can pause it -- your savegame is not even a slideshow (3 still pictures) for my computer.

My theory is that it has to do with a special effect placed on a workplace in a certain order -- the crash may occur with the combination of the income effect on the workplace and the time when the income is accrued. If you delete the buildings and re-add them, then perhaps, because the income modifying buildings in question were built earlier, there is no problem anymore.

I can't make the connection.

I'm not disputing it's working for the OP, but I've had several cities with no farms & it still crashes.

Same here I'll say again, the buildings or actions dont seem to make me crash one bit.

Moving and placing a building will crash.

I ran the game for hours not doing anything to see if it would crash on its own, it didnt, memory use didnt go up either (so I couldnt find a leak).

SCS does use an entire gig of memory however, since I only have 1G total I am cashing 500+mb on my disk and this is probably helping the crashes along.

OP how much memory do you have?

To crash at 5pm everyday would totally suck.

I am thinking its still a memory problem. 5pm is when most of the businesses close in the game . I wonder if there is a bug in that code?

It also seem to happen more frequently when the city was in Fun City Mode, or switching from one mode to the other.

Tropia City now has about 30,000 people and i have kept it in default city mode. I let the sim. run all night n day with out incident.

"Fun City & Honey Farms, bad combo lets test n see LOL."

Again, can you tell us what kind of special effects your city buildings have on income from those workplaces? It's not just the honey farms/etc., because I started a city with a lot of the buildings you mentioned and it works fine.
