Did you try another DVD-drive?

Oh and ... so others more savvy than myself may be able to help, attach a copy of your dxdiag. :)

So once you hit "Play" for the launcher nothing happens? If so wait a little longer maybe. I know on my system there is a few second delay from when I hit play and the game launches. During that time my screen looks like nothing is happening and I was kicked back to the desktop. After a few seconds though it loads up and I see the EA animated logo.

Worth a try.

Try adding this to the end of the shortcuts "target" field: -theLlamaSaysGO
It skips the thing trying to get on the internet and the little launch screen and goes straight in-game.

Wow, I wasn't having the same problem but thanks for that. I can't stand launchers.:)

What I found out isn't very good news. Although your graphic card is also DirectX 9 card it is less powerful than the required Geforce FX5900 or greater (or similar ATI card).

I am probably totally necroposting here, but I have done a proof of concept with SCS working on a Geforce 7100GS. :P
