Cross referencing another Tech thread, TM, that has sublinks to the other threads about this ~ Help (http://www.tiltedmill.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14475). I thought a better thread title would be helpful.

My thread here ~ SCS game save file structure (http://www.tiltedmill.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14474) ~ has led me to believe that the difference in the size of my game save file #1/3 as compared to other players might be due to no trees, rocks & rock formations. That would lead me to conclude that up to 1,000kb of game save is caused by them. That's a LOT!

I have made a post predicting that you will patch this. However, on thinking about it more, I have guessed that you did this on purpose so that the game will still play on my & other's minimum computers. If so, then a HUGE Thank YOU!

If my guess is correct, PLEASE keep the no trees, rocks & rock formations. The rest of the game works most excellently for me. :)

If you DO patch it, then perhaps a switch to turn them off just in case?

<dreams of bigger white box>

Disclaimer: I might be totally wrong in my conclusions. Just trying to be helpful. ;)

EDIT: Fixed the typo. 1,000kb instead of 1kb.

The size could be from other factors, but its possible. I've read the other posts concerning the rocks and trees and I have the same problem with my Radeon 9800 PRO SE. I think there should be a way to remove the detail constraints, but I can't find a way. Even after editing the video settings xml files it still autodetects when the game starts and limits the options. Seriously, I'm sure the 9800 PRO can render the terrain details on high. If I can run games like Oblivion and Battlefield 2 with good frame rate on Medium-High with 2X AA I'm sure I can render some rocks and trees. I understand limiting the shader options but high res textures should be optional for the 9800 line. I'm buying a new Alienware machine in a couple weeks but won't get it til January apparently. So I guess I'll have to wait to play.

Edit: I basing the graphical constraints as the reason for no trees on a statement in a post made by a mod, so I assume thats the reason. Also I tweaked the graphics and still no go.
