I have notice something that to me seemed to be random before. But due to some thinking, and using my Noggin hehe, I started to think maybe some building types are the cause of the oh so annoying random crashes interim in game.

I'm saddened that I don't have the time to fully investigate into this theory of mine since I'm a full-time College student and working full time hours too on top of that heh, but I have located one building that has continuously caused a crash for me and that would be the Fire Station. every time I put it down to be constructed, it crashes on me.

I'm on the few precious times that I'm home going to test this with every type of building I can.

btw I have done this test 8 times with the Fire Station and the second i choose to build it I crash to the beautiful picture of corvette on my desktop :D

if anyone finds this to be valid or want to test this out yourself, by all means do so. I won't be able to vigorously test my own theory out but if others do, please post your findings.

thanks

I've been building them just fine, 10,000+ people

Vista Ultimate - TURION 64 X2 TL-60, RADEON X1600 256MB 1G ddr
XP - 64 X2 5000 Radeon X1300 256MB 1G ddr

Xp crashes every 30mins or so, doesnt matter what I build once it hangs it hangs

Reduce your video quality and disable audio (if you want), disable day/night to make it faster and less likley to crash.

Vista seems to run much (much) better then xp.

The buildings has nothing to do with the crash, it's just a coincidence that it happens, probably because at that moment you reach the total amount of the buildings that causes the crash, again a lot of us already discovered what the problem is and im sure TM is working on the patch, probably making the patch also fix the annoying import problem that does not read all the new mods correctly, so lets hope a patch will be out soon.
