Hi,
I attempted to play after doing a reboot of the computer since it's been running since 2AM this morning and not more than 5 minutes into the game I got the two screenshots that you see below.

I alt tabbed to the desktop after this happened to see if perhaps my graphics card just blew out on me but the desktop was fine. I went back into the game and the screen was black, I waited there about a minute or so and then the game screen came back to normal again.

I have all the latest drivers (see my other threads for a current DXDIAG, I don't think I should post it to every thread, until I can actually put it in my signature ;) ) For your convienience, you can find the dxdiag in this thread: http://www.tiltedmill.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14244

Anyway as you can see the graphics went all screwey on the game, and No the graphics card isn't overheating, and I had all settings in the game turned down to low or off other than things like clipping planes so that I don't get that awful fog at such a close distance.

In the first image it's like all the text in the game was replaced by jibberish or nothing at all, the second image Im not sure how to try to describe that, I don't know what the black spots are, the only thing I can think of is that they are bushes of some sort that were/are in the game, but obvsioulsy everything else disappeared.

Hope you all at TM can fix these problems soon.

Artifacts are usually caused by video card and/or system overheating.

Its better to have a program to 'read' your graphic card's temperature in your computer (if your graphic card has built in temperature sensor) so that you can know whether your graphic card is overheating. I know my graphic card is always very hot (about 64C at idle) and there is no dust at the heatsink.

Thanks :)

My video cards are not overheating, I do in fact have a program that tells me the temperature and alerts me with sound when the video cards get too hot (it does the same thing for my CPU and chipset as well), so my video card wasn't the culprit here "this" time. I should also mention that right now my house is down to a freezing 65°f and the case hasn't had it's side door put back on it since the start of summer due to heat here in the desert which we are now thankfully over.

Plus I just managed to play for 1:39:40 before the game locked up again and on this round the map was much fuller than it was with the above map in the OP and there was no graphic anomalies. My guess is that the game hiccuped and has got more issues than the hangups, lockups, C++ errors too.

Thanks anyway for the replies, I only hope that TM is taking notes on the issues that people are having and working towards fixing all of them.
