the PLAY button problem

Now at the moment I'm really pissed off because i gave away 50 € to buy this game and as i got through the installation and started playing the game, I wanted to click the Play button but it just gets highlighted and nothing else. I tryed downloading the patch, but with no positive results.

Then i tryed to reinstall the game, but i kind of couldn't make it for this game to uninstall and then install again. In game FAQ they wrote i might have problems with this if i have virus protection ON but i had it off, so i don't really know what to do and I'm really angry cause i spent all afternoon trying to play the game.

Ok, i fixed now. I finally got it reinstalled and i downloaded some older ATI drivers. It works.

However, after 20 minutes, image starts to look brown so i can't see anything. Is this a call for a patch or not?

Can you attach your entire dxdiag.txt file to this thread so we have more complete info about your system?

When it "starts to look brown" can you make a screenshot of it and post that as well?

What Catalyst driver version did you download and install? With your Radeib X1950 I would expect that you should have no problems with newer drivers.

OK thank you guys anyways although i fixed the problem myself.

The problem was I pushed video options too high. Although I can max every decent game without problems. Is it coincidence or not, but I had preformance issues ONLY on SIMS2, SC4 and SCS. Strangly only simcity games.

Now I play on 1200x1014 (something like that) and shadow details turned off and vsync and bloom turned off, and works GREAT. Graphics are still awsome, but I did notice a bit of LAG when I was playing 30,000 population town. Is that normal?
