Hi, I have a problem with this game. I have a 7600GT 256 mb and it lags severly when i move the camera, especially in free mode. I've lowered the settings but it's the same :( . I have the latest drivers tough ..... I don't know what to do, and it's a shame coz' i really like the game. I don't think it's a hardware/driver problem ... Any ideeas please ???:)

Your lag problem is related to the lack for free space for windows and the game to run. Windows needs room to move files around and without enough free space it can't do it's job.

Agreed, free up some disk space or buy a larger hard drive.

I've been having lag issues as well. However it seems like when I play the game in windowed mode, the performance increased significantly.

I have a similar problem and here is my dx. Hmm maybe its a 7600 thing......21475

with testing for my 7600 card shadows and lightning are teh culprit. ev erythign else is maxed. since oyou have a 7600 try turning lighting to low and shadows off. Lets hope a driver or a patch will allow us to enjoy city lights :(

I also was having severe lag problems with the game but seem to have found at least one reason.

Try a city with all dirt roads and see if you still have the problem. This morning I decided to give the game another try and I made a "small town" using all dirt roads. It worked fine and I was glad the lag had somehow vanished. When my population got just over 1400 I decided to start upgrading some of the roads to pavement. Instantly had the previous lag problems even though I only paved one square section. I bulldozed and replaced the dirt roads. Once again the game ran fine. I tried paving just one block and the lag returned.

Just as a trial you might try replacing paved roads in an already built city with dirt roads to see if the lag clears up.

Maybe this is something that needs to be looked at by the developers etc..

On another item I noticed that although my population was just over 1400 a notice popped up congratulating me on reaching 1500 population. The population sign never did reflect 1500 population.

it's true there is a lag problem but it is related to the memoryleak, now it's not a hard drive space problem as i have like 200 gb free space left over and even another 200 on my secondary drive.

it's not a hard drive space problem
Agreed! The original poster has over 1Gb left on all 3 drives which is more than enough scratch disk space.
