THIS IS A SHOUT-OUT TO TILTED MILL GAME PRODUCERS:

I was playing Simcity4 yesterday, and I realized one giant factor, that I hoped would be in the next Simcity game, will there be weater of any kind?

Waiting for your reply!

I cannot speak for simcity Societies but I know that TIltedmill's previous games both had their own types of "weather"
Cotn has only one really it was the Nile river flooding every year, off of the screen I think sandstorms effected trade.
In Caesar 4 there were multiple weather effects that supposedly effect gameplay aswell, for example rain and snow helped reduce the risk of fire and helped put it out aswell, sandstorms dammaged and destroyed buildings in some of the videos I have seen, also lightning could strike your city and start fires:)

there was a form of weather in Sc2k that I remember, it says it is rainy or dry and I think that effected gameplay aswell but you could not actually see it:/

Well, the one form of weather in sc2k you really felt were the hurricanes...when water flooded your cities and buildings started to implode, sometimes causing fires. Interesting situation when you have a fire but can't get the emergency troops there because the roads are under water. ;)

The weather effects were quite subtle (aside from the hurricanes of course! ;) ) and you can know the city weather only by the little weather icon. If it was cloudy or rainy, your Solar Power plants are slightly less effective. If it was windy, your Wind Power plants produced a little more power.

The variable output of solar and wind power was sadly lacking in SC4.

Being 'green' isn't always cheap and/or convenient, or we'd be doing it quite a bit more than we are.

One of the screenshots has a bunch of windmills. You might have just explained the left-most of the 5 BIG non Societal Energy buttons (SE buttons on the right are smaller) on the interface, Azeem!

Upper part ~ lightening bolt

Lower part ~ meter with arrow pointing to about northwest. 1/4 full. It reminded me of those fire danger signs we see in our National Parks.

It definitely appears to be a weather icon of some kind, but I didn't think about wind & solar power.

EDIT: Oooor ~ it could just be a power indicator. :o
