With SC4, even the slowest mode was still *very* fast in 'realtime'. There is discussion with SC5 that you might be able to interact with the people. That would be a problem if you can't 'go realtime'. In fact, I came across a 'working drawbridge' custom lot that had to allow traffic to pass through all the time, because for the viewer to see the bridge 'up' it would have to block traffic so long it would 'harm' the traffic patterns from being up hours of in-game time. SimTropolis is having trouble on searches right now, or I would find it and post the link.
I would love for SC4 to have a 'realtime' mode where the in-game clock is matched with the real world clock. I even think of somehow syncing the calendar with the local calendar. When it's snowing outside, I think of having Christmas within SC4. And sometimes I want Christmas in-game when it's June on my calendar. I'm funny that way, but I'm interested in issues that people have with the in-game clock and calendar, and how SC5 might deal with time issues.
