I'm not sure how to start this off, but here it goes: what about having different climates (IE, deserts, arctic) that could effect the way that cities look and feel.

In one of the screenshots, there's a city at night. The thing I don't like in that screenshot is the stars/sky. I'd suggest having a "sky dome" sort of thing where the stars are on multiple layers, with the dimmest stars on the front, and the brightest stars in the back. As it progresses from day to night, the stars on the back are the first to show up, and vice-versa for the ones at the front. In sparsely-populated areas, almost all the star layers would show up at night, and in heavily-populated areas the stars would be much less visible.

In small cities it would be hard to see at night, but in large cities it would be much easier to see at night, as the lights from all the buildings illuminate everything.

Also, what about having arcologies? (like from Simcity 2000) Huge self-sufficient mega-structures that house thousands of people in highly-dense quarters.

I think my favorite was the forest arco because it didn't launch off after you placed one too many... lol I want to see them return aswell:)

Arcololigies sweet thats a cool suggestion, and lil hydro plants thousands of them , in a dos sim city 2000 , i had 115 launch arcoligies , forest arcos , and the two black ones cant remember the names , one looked like a bear or something , the population was 8.7 something million and i built it from scratch ,i was 14 when i built that city , that was a long time ago

I cant remeber the name of it ,was so long ago, this arco even used to scare me,and only the bravest of sims would live here .

I had thoughts on ideas , its tough ,my ideas would change should the game be a single city or regional, fantasy or realistic sim city.Single city fantasy, id like to see maybe , underground structures, underwater structures,under water arcos even , resource managment ,trade ,interaction with other cities,
super capcity Kurupter shuttle buses that drop you off at your arco balcony.Mutli level roads ,highways ,underground sim conveyer belt hop on hop off ,Tower of Babel , jurasica park well maybe one or two dinasaurs,prospecting and special resources available late game that can be used to make something you might need .Just a few ideas but its tough flying in the dark .

It has been so long since I looked at the names but I think they are Plymoth, Darko-Drako, forest, and Launch arcos

And the image is darko-drako -).The bear, that arco effected your normal life when placed in your city it had some wierd kind of will wright magic to it that stays with you the rest of your life.

The Nation feels it is time , we should get a little more out of the deal .For to long
now Sim Nation has footed the bill 500,000 start 2 mill in loans and the city goes pop
the Mayor shoots through never to be seen again , Sim Nation is left to pick up the pieces
rehome its loyal subjects , clear the land and the mayors debt, this often results in costs
to the nation that far exeed the origonal debt last year alone the nation lost Kapillions of
Simoleons picking up the pieces, all to often now also my minions are informing of the mistreatment
once seperated from the collective and put to work in the cities, i hear of exessive taxation, poor
services , and crime ,older sims often fear for there lives in some of the hell holes i must send them.
Some mayors even watch and take pictures without ever sending help as they burn in thier homes ,usually
by fire started by the evil mayors to clear land for Big business , we know who you are the nation is
none to impressed.The minions threaten to rebel , this will not be a pretty sight , the nation suggests
tighting the belt on these wreckless mayors ,and that the mayor be held responsible and accountable to
Sim Nation , should the mayor fail us , we would deal with them apropriatley before the get chance to
do a runner and once again leave us,to pick up the tab some of these mayors must think we are made of money.


1, No starting Funds , If you want to built a city in our nation , we may grant you that right
should we be confident that you could achieve our high requirements ,we may be prepared to borrow
you sufficeit funds , on terms /rate to be agreed at a later time.(Why should we continue to trust
these baffoons with our money - Quote SN parliment )

2,Loans Sim nation may be willing to forward more funds on loan basis ,during the period of the initial
loan so long as all obligations have been met on time , and your city has enough value to cover a minium
amount of security for the loan ammount required.(ammend 6 -funding act)

3, Any other later loans to the city would be available as a small fixed % of your city value and no greater

4, All loans will be subject to interest chargeable at the bank of Sim Nations current rate (Variable).

5, Land tax ,the mayor rents the land from Sim Nation ,the mayor then collects the rents from the sims
that occupy the ground , as city values rise land tax may vary as to the value of the surronding area.
Land Tax is paid directly to sim nation , occupancy tax is paid to the city.

6,Some activaties by the mayor may need licensing by sim nation all projects subject to licensing
will be subject to licensing costs paid directly to Sim Nation by the city.

7,Pollution and the Enviroment you will be charged a fixed rate per unit of polution your city produces.

8,Occupancy tax , variable but set within the limits as advised in the rights for sims act 2007

9,Commercial tax - paid to the city collected from commercial enterprises ,built on land rented
from sim nation by the major, no fixed guideline on tax limits , but unprofitable businesses
would quickly go bang if taxes are set to high.

10,Industrial tax , same principle as Commercial tax

11, National tax paid as a % of city profits to sim nation at the end of each fiscal year.
National Tax pays to cover the cost of training the milartary and the costs involved in tax admins.

12,The mayor is held accountable and responsible for all city debts to sim nation , the nation resevres
the right to sieze and sell any part of your assets , to limit your liabilites during any period you continually
fail to meet your obligations , you may then purchase back the area siezed once your dedt is clear and you
have sufficent funds to cover the repurchase plus costs .

13, Continued Failier to meet your obligations would result in your immediate arrest and expulsion from
the city.
14 Any deals between the mayor and any other party occupying sim nation land would be subject the
appropriate tax legislation.
15 Services tax , possible taxation linked to imported services used by your city .

16 Any other taxes we can think of to make your life a misery between now and then .

17 We feel the compitent mayors that serve us so well should be rewarded by means of personal salary
this should be payable monthly in arrears . However should the mayor enter into debt ,prior to the seizer
of assets , the mayor must contribute his full saving to cover the debt at the required time of payment.
Maybe if you exceed in your duties/obligations to the Nation , increased salaries and bonuses may apply.

18 As favour and gratitude from the nation the Mayor is not taxed on his salary or and the space he occupies
during his residency is not subject to land tax , however should the mayor wish to expand his residence,then
the approriate taxes would apply in line to the taxable rates of the given area the mayor wishes to occupy.

Yes Willi88 maybe you are Wright , for some crazy second there i thought we was
making sim city game , which in my experience uses a lot of mathamatics and has quite a
detailed budget i was just experimenting with a few twists to it ,also id over looked
this game was for the U14,s who might not have enough fingers to cope with such a challenging
budget , so maybe your visual stimulation idea is much better than my mental stimulation idea,
The pretty stars is a nice touch maybe add a santa and riendeer in the sky at thanks giving time
this may get a lil smile from our limited mentality younger generation also it give them something to show nana when she calls at weekends.I think if PC games companys
are going to direct products at the younger generation then they should be more mentaly stimulating than
visualy , with a good balance of both to keep interest .That is unless you are trying to create a generation
that can only interact with the game visually sounds like interesting new route for sim city to follow .
