Wait and see. I don't see how anyone can say "I like it" or "I don't like it" if they've never played it before.

Based on what I have seen so far, I will say I like it. However, I have not seen nearly enough to base a buy/no buy decision on, so in that regard I would still be a wait and see.

Just to annoy all the people who've already said they're not gonna buy it, I voted that I like it! HAHA! :D
In all seriousness, I'll wait and see. I, for one, haven't nearly seen enough to properly judge the game.

I'm tentatively excited but I want to play a demo before I commit to a preorder (college student.) As a City Builder fan, I'm sure I'll play it, but money's tight.

From what I've seen so far I have to say I don't like it. Definitely willing to change my opinion but it's got a long ways to go.

Does Tilted Mill usually release their games on demos? I don't *think* (don't quote me on it) any of the past SC games were... could be wrong though.

I think it'll be up to EA to decide if and when to release the demo.
However, and I'll prelimanary warn everyone, TM has released demo versions prior to the game's release. The warning here is that because the demo is from a pre-release version, it features a few bugs, isn't optimized yet etc. :)
The good side ofcourse, is that you can play your new game a bit earlier to ease the waiting. It's a game of give and take.

Poetic, Fileplanet has the demos for Children of the Nile and Ceasar 4, if you're interested in catching a look at TM's recent games. Children of the Nile has a strong emphasis on society which I'm hoping might be an influence on SCS. Like Jay says, the demos are from pre-final versions of the game, but they do give you a taste of the final product.
I'm always annoyed when companies don't provide demos. I always wait and get those games on sale.

COTN Demo was from the full released game.
C4 Demo was an early public Beta.

Nope, there's never been a demo of SimCity before. However, I wouldn't mind one this time around, just to make sure I don't waste my money.

I'm 50/50 on what I've seen so far. I'll have to wait to see what developes. What I've seen so far isn't enough to convince me to buy it, but I'm sure there will be some evolution before release.

Even though it's still early in game development, I'm disappointed with the "new direction" that SimCity Societies is taking. I think that you can still have an opinion about preliminary data (I've never liked the "if you don't like it then shut up" mentality). So far, I'm not liking what I'm seeing but I will have to wait and see...

Perhaps the question should be: "Do you like what has been presented thus far?"
