I need some help please, I can play for a while and then it crashes and asks if I want to send it to microsoft, no help there. I read about the nvidia driver, but not sure if my card will run that old driver. Brand new custom system with all the requirments on the back of the cd. any ideas as what to do? There is no rhime or reason to the crashes, sometime a few min or a hours to so. will try to attach the dxdiag.
I am not a techie person, but out of curiosity had a look at your dxdiag. The first thing I saw (copied from there): "DirectX Files Tab: The file system.dll is missing! You should reinstall DirectX to get the latest version."

Again, Kiya is right. Reinstall DirectX which you can either find on the game CD, or you can download the latest version from Microsoft's homepage.
You are also running an AMD Dual Core processor (very nice!! :)). Install the Update (after you've reinstalled DirectX and rebooted) from AMD. It's called AMD Dual-Core-Optimizer (http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_13118,00.html).
See if this already helps. Attach a new DxDiag to your next post, after you've reinstalled the DirectX, please.

It might not have to be done. The file system.dll might be on the system, just not in a place it's being looked for. Thanks, Phil. I didn't know that. Never had to solve a problem of this nature before, so I didn't know.

I know I have things running in the background, but I'm not sure what to keep and what not too, or how to get them off startup mostley, like msn messanger, and others I have to click and close everytimeI open my desktop. help would be great. If you can tell me how and where to find this list I would really like the help. thanks. as far as the protection stuff you mean like any dvd? I have had the same peoblem even before I got it. Trust me my kids like being able to watch their movies, and I like keeping the orginal and not haveing to replace them all the time.
